Just make sure you wipe em down after they get wet or they ll get have corrosive spots which take twice as long to get shiny.

Anyone done this with paint stripper instead of the wet&dry? Would probably need some tidying up with the finer grades and fine steel wool but it would cut the workload down a bit.

I believe the pros use paintstripper 2 or 3 coats before going to less abrasive materials.

AFAIK the pros use a lathe if theyre only doing the rims, paint stripper would make it very messy, you wouldnt get a straight line around the edge. Also its very nasty stuff, I hate working with it, ive had to use it far too much on cars.

What this smart bloke here said :arrowu: Can get em done for $200 - $250 a pair at Lae Racing here in Brissie.

Good point but I would have thought that paint stripper would trash the tape.
Costs about the same to get em done here, a place called Truwheels does it.

Sure that's not chromed? Steve P's bike is chromed (Some of you guys will know of him) and it looks sweet! Too bad it costs an arm and a leg. Looks a lot like it's been polised but apparently it's half the work to keep clean.

Youll prolly need some ultrafine after the 1200 and then some autosol will make em come up like magic.
Look after them fingers mate.
