Yeah its funny NOW, What I had done was virtually made the side stand vertical, if there was anything but a totally level surface the bugger would roll forward
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

What Year is it where you live?
didnt they still do that like 2 years ogo??
Thery haven't done it for a few years now, not since the 749's and 999's have been out! I'm not sure when they stopped putting the "suicide" sidestands on but it was quite a while ago!

Could have been worse, I was taking my oldbike of the centrestand and had tools laying under the bike (Sledgehammer, as I was busting links of the Chian) and it got hooked up in the centrestand and pushed it over onto our commodore.

Like I said, could have been worse.

I don't think there'd be many people who haven't done this.

No one saw mine either

dont worry u wont be the first or the last to forget ur side stand.

its even worse when u put ur side stand down (but not properly), walk away and hear a crash.

Ouch

Lucky it doesn't look too bad.

Watched a guy at La Parouse get jiggy with his GF on a gpx250 all went well, straightened up the bike (GF kicked stand up while going hell for leather)went to rest the bike on the stand and over she went with the bike.

Worse part he had the P plate displayed, in front of about 10 mates and the bike was alongside the gutter not with the rear wheel against it like they teach you. After all his mate stopped laughing they helped lift it up, only they started to laugh again at the damage. Gutters tend to do a lot more damage than a flat surface

When a very bad girl backed her car into my bike & knocked it over  (we're talking NSW here where they expect you to park off the footpath) the stoopid policeman suggested to me that I had parked illegally with my back tyre into the kerb rather than parking parallel?
