I think panniers are just a symptom of Western thinking - a bit like suitcases, or deodorant, or helmets...............

(apologies if you have seen these before, or if you really do need panniers.....)

I shit you not, this is the most freaky sight in China. Mostly outside the main CBD you would see dozens of them riding around (not slow either) dodging in and out of trafic/pedestrians.

I almost got hit crossing the road by an electric scooter with the week or it could have been the months vegie supply
