I had a car that wouldnt start if it was hot, it was something to do with the charging system on the battery. Battery was always normal when tested with a voltmeter. It *did* take nearly 2 years to track down the exact problem....

Dont know if the systems are the same on a bike.
I used to have a handle on Life,
but it fell off.

The ignition on a car how different are they to d bike??
Reason is the old cortina i had, had a loose wire in the distributor as soon as the thing would warm up the wire would loose contact car would shut down (sound similar to what is happening here). After 4days of looking at wiring i found it. If they are similar i would start there if it's not fuel. But don't just look at the conection give it a small play to insure it is conected. Mine looked like it was conected but it pritty much wasn't.

It will be the fact that the vaccuum hose is disconnected.

Are you running the bike with the fuel tap in the "Prime" position? That should be the only way that a vaccuum operated fuel tap can flow freely. But that may not supply fuel at a fast enough rate to keep up with the demand of a 18,000 rpm redline. Hence the float bowls will drain and the bike stops.

Re-connect the vaccuum hose and take it for a run.

Cheers,
Pete
