Three days of mental work....n now it's raining!

I busted my chops monday, tuesday and wednesday this week, starting at 5am and finishing betwen 7 and 10.30pm. There was method in my madness. i had intended to get a big chunk of work done for two reasons. 1, so i could get away as soon as the boys finish school Friday, for our family weekend away. and 2, so I could do a short ride today!!!

but as I sit and type this, the rain is pouring down on the colourbond roof in the office. So unless it miraculously clears up, I'll have to spend the day working instead! But that just means I can probably get out for a ride during next week. Maybe cup day if it's not wet as forecast!

The best laid plans of mice and men hey!!!!! I remember not so long ago, when it wouldn't worry me if it was raining or not. It's not that I can't ride wet roads, I actually don't mind it, especially these days with the wet weather gear available. But I just feel frustrated going through corners at wet speed, knowing how quick you CAN go in the dry!!!!!!!

Yep plans are a wonderfull thing,my plan worked ok, fit tyres yesterday and go for a ride.Pretty much did the weekend ride all over again apart from the tree across the spur and frantic waving ses guy

but i suppose i will have to work today too

and RDO's seem to be spent picking kids up and doing crap around the house for the wife

Not riding weekday i tend to love a good ride on the weekend

. I really gives me the shits when it is fine all week then the weekend comes and it buckets down

. A few weeks back it rained a few weekend in a row then i was overseas so it was like a month without a ride

. The missus even tells me you need to go for a ride (i think i get withdrawral), the sad part is see picks up on it

. To make it worse she will even tell me "bub if it wasn't you could go for a good ride today"

I think she does it to stir me up

.

I say go riding anyway, not like we haven't done the spurs in adverse conditions Strika.

I'm thinking of doing the spurs tomorrow morning. I start work at 2 in Preston, so am thinking of leaving home 8:30ish and just keep going.

tell me about it, i spent atleast 3 hours spiffing up the outside of my car yesterday, washed, polished, armoralled.

Yeah I do, and did! However, when I originally planned my week, according to the BOM, today was supposed to be 25 and Sunny!!!!!!

Once the work schedule is in place it's pretty hard to change it! ............................."Err hello? Is this Mr. Yamamoto, CEO of the company that spends a mil a year with my company??? .....Arr yes! Well I can't do that work that I charge you a shitload of money for, cause I am going bike riding!"

not to rub it in but ...

really glad I dissapeared for a few hours yesterday. found a few new roads leading to warbuton from the cockatoo area, rolled all the way down mt donna buang (from the summit to the bottom) to see what it was like... an absolute ball btw, the look on the face of the stoners picking mushrooms as I rolled past completely silent at 100kmh was priceless... and I think my corner speed was up at the end of the day after doing it. I'm such a wimp, but I mostly got over my desire to brake a bit by the time I hit the end.
It's going to be a weekly activity over the holidays I think.

Heh. I spent the past seven weeks averaging 65 billable hours a week and now I'm celebrating with a relaxing spot of surgery... word of advice; if anyone tries to talk you into getting a knee reconstruction done because it'll be fun, punch them in the head for being a lying cahn.

I-K , I have always had a great deal of respect for your posting and regard you as a person of wisdom , but , any one who has just done 7 weeks @ 65hrs at work and then needs knee surgery has me a little concerned about what you do for a job that requires so much time on your knees .
