No, debit cards are just credit cards that are not allowed to have a negative value... So they will be charged at the same amount as anything else...

Guys, you are complaining about the wrong crowd..... if you want to complain about someone complain about VISA, MasterCard and AMEX..... These guys have been stinging the shops for years and the shops often just suck up the expense.....

If it wasnt for those guys hiking their prices, and the price of petrol going up (and margins going down) this wouldnt be happening.

AMEX and dinners card are particularly bad, their charge is higher than everyone elses, so if you have an amex card you will find less and less people will accept it...

Fact is, these big companies feel secure in their industry, so they can afford to skim a bit off the top.... they let their usage numbers drop a little bit while they increase their rates... then after a while they put it back down to win customers back...

Its all a big scam...... They make money at two ends.... They earn it from your interest payments, and they also take up to 5% of every transaction that is made from them.... Pretty sweet deal for them....

i use a visa debit, with my own money. and i get charged 1%

using cheque or savings, you get no fee from servo, BUT you only get 5 free eftpos transactions a month. how many times do i fill a bike up in a month? and thats not taking into account shopping and stuff.
cash is good if you wanna take your whole pay out in one hit and carry it.
(i get paid monthly, so it kinda adds up)

caltex up here run outta both normal unleaded and vortex, and only have vortex 98, and leave the price up out the front saying how cheap their unleaded is, if you could get it...

Caltex Gold Starcard

Jerrycan in the back of the car for the bike

I don't get charged anything but thats starcard, as for the other cards yes it does stink. I heard that some servos charge just for going to them, and to top it off the meters for the fuel are not even correct
