Aldi Tank Bag

Post by Burky »

Just picked one of these up today, they seem quite good. the bag is infact 3 but not having the expansion zipper it could be a bit in the bulky side. there are heaps of compartments, waterproof cover and the Middle bag even looks like it will take a laptop. all sections have map pockets also. There are 3 large magnets on each side to hold it on with straps incase the magnets fail but never heard of this happening before. One drawback is there is no hole in the base for fueling, so the bag needs to come off.I don't do that much riding but for my use it will do quite well. At $50 is worth it, that is just my opinion. I will try it out on the bike tonight for final assesment

is it one of the magnatised ones? And if so, does it have anti scratch pads under the magnets?

also does it have hoops sothat you can attach a strap to it for walking with or a handle?
The world is round. It has no point.

Looks like a rubber/plastic combo so i would say it is anti-scratch

It has a shoulder strap, Back back staps and also a bumbag/hip style bag.

A mate and I picked one of these up this morning, aswell I picked up an extra one for another mate. These are really good bang for buck, yes it does have an anti-scratch pad, aswell there are hoops all over to carry or put a strap on. The bag consists of three different sections: The base with magnets can be used just for a map, maybe loose change for toll etc, then the middle section for a small laptop, which also has a map cover. Then the top piece for more storage, with heaps of pockets, aswell the map cover. It has a waterproof cover that is conventialty zipped away. Each piece can be used within conjunction with each other. The pocket that is closest to you can be used to put your mobile/mp3/whatever in as it has a small hole on top with one of those rubber grommit things to stick the cables through.

I also picked up 3 of those bike helmet headset. They are really easy install, the speakers are farking loud  My mates are installing theres tonight, so I will let you know on the quality of the mic.

All in all I am very happy with my purchases 8)

just a warning about the aldi tankbags, if you fill the top tank bag up heaps, for the love of god, dont try to directly zip it onto the base if you've got an extremely curved tank. (i just gave up and threw it in my ventura bag!)

One of the downsides of it being un-expandable i guess.
