Finally!

Post by Zombie »

Yesterday I went to Deca to try again for my L's.
All went well it seemed: No worries on the first left-hand turn, indicated and stayed in the lines yay. I cracked the slow ride (11.6 seconds) yay, my mass hurdle finally accomplished!!! Onto stage 3, right-hand turn no probs what-so-ever, again indicated and stayed between the lines, on round for the final part, the emergancy stop, well was doing the required 20-25kph, the guys arm went up I pull on the brakes, uh-oh, back end jumps to the left and I'm on my arse, bike on its side squashing my foot- OUCH! get foot out, 2 small toes on fire, give them a wiggle not broken - phew! Needless to say I failed!
Oh well I get home and check injuries, 2 swollen toes looking a bit purple, bugger. Later on I notice purple bruise on inside of left knee, another bugger.
So what to do?
Well the only thing any superwoman would do, take it again! There is a class next day, just turn up for the test. OK! why not?
So I did, and this time no worries at all - I HAVE MY L's!!!!!!!!!!
All I need now is my bike back from Race Rep (hopefully Monday) and away I go. Dont pressure me for a ride out just yet, will get some road practice in with Mike first.
Hee hee hee Im so happy.

WTG girl, now you can leave Mike babysitting if you want to go for a ride on your own sometime ;)

Well done!!!

oh and watch that rear brake, remember its there to keep the rear in line with a moderate application of the brakes when the front is getting the life squeezed out of it.

Did you have a choice of bike? I walked straight past those and went for the Virago.

Congrats!

Y'know, I cheated in the emergency brake test. Just pretend to do the rear brake but don't actually put any pressure on it. Works a treat lol.
