Hmmmm, its a bit hard really because every manufacturer has its good and bad bikes i reckon.Owned a few yamahas over the years and havent had that much luck with them, but overall ide have to say Buell.
To me its a bit of a contridiction making a sports bike or at least a bike that handles and then putting a bloody harley donk in it?

deffinately buell for me. Ugly, bad balance and it has a useless HD motor. otherwise i think all the other manufactorors (tha big K included) have their winners and their loosers. each to their own :)

Plenty of others you could ad to the list Dr, Ssangyong, (never seen much less ridden one outside a bike show), Hyosung, Moto Guzzi, Bultaco, Montesa, Ossa, Husqvarna (make gret sewing machines I hear) and the list goes on.

I'd probably go with Yamaha too although as others have pointed out, all have their good and bad bikes.

'Hate' is such a strong word to use.

I'd have to say Honda but not because of the bike. I had a CBR900 back in the mid-nineties and when it was running it was fine.

When I had trouble with it, anyone who had anything to do with Honda at the time, from the honda sales staff and management right through to parts and service, didn't want to know about it, were too busy to care or were just rude, obnoxious c*nts.

I suppose you can get that with any supplier of bikes but this was my experiences and it was unfortunate that it happened with Honda.

I'm with this bloke. I enjoy all the meats of the motorcycling stew, and I try to call a spade a spade when it comes to cynical marketing or bonehead design.

Eg. due to their finally putting some headbanger into their sportsbikes, I now hold Honda in higher regard than I used to five years ago.

I'm shitty with Kawasaki for not having introduced the ZX-10R for the 2002 model year.

I find it hard to blame Ducatis for the cockspanks who buy them.

Etc, etc...

it's funny you say this about honda dealerships. maybe through irony or whatever but the honda dealership (unfortunatly also the Kwak dealer) are a bunch of fuck wits. between the age of 16 - 20 odd was the time a dealership could have made me a cus for life but they never looked at me twice, and when they did talk to me they were dissrespectful and you could see "he's young and must not have any money" written all over their face. now their just rude.
I try to avoid the honda/kwak place at all costs, thankfully my mechanic is not part of them (although he did work their before they lost him (their own loss))
otherwise i don't mind hondas. ever reliable, high qualuity build and they just don't seem to die. The 04 onward blade is a really great bike and looks awsome, unfortunatly my old man bought an 04 blade so i just CAN"T buy one now. mid next year i'll be looking to upgrade and at this stage the 07 R1 is the fav for me.

Hmm agree ducati's are a bit overkill and the people that buy them are cock spankers!!

I would have to put my Vote to honda, only cause i see so many knobs riding around on there CBR's or Goldwings!

I like buells tho, esp the Firebolt, although the stats on sheet make it look like a slug compared to other 1000's the design is pretty manacing and quite unique!

Before last Wednesday liked Buell's , but a bloke in Hamilton lost his life on one after , evidently , being blown off the road and running through a culvert . I know the wind was pretty wild as I rode the 9 down through Hamilton and on to Dunkeld same day . Was quite shocked to hear about it the next morning .In the past have seen the Fella cruising 'round Hamilton , worked as a mech in the local Honda joint , and looked competent on his ride . Such bad luck for him and his family . Be carefull you guys .
A bit like the 10R is when theres a bit of wind i find
and people might pick on Harleys but at the end of the day i'll probally end up on one
why buy a japanesse copy that doesnt hole there value

Funny the stealerships getting mentioned. To most of them, they are there to sell bikes. That's what they get paid for, and little else bothers them. Sure they can make a bit outta parts and accessories, but the maunfactures make most of that profit.

Servicing froma dealer is a total joke. Most don't want to know once they've sold a bike, so the job is usually shoddy. I've had Yamaha dealers return the bike without the bolts holding on the rear brake caliper, a bike returned with over 140Km added to the clock from the "test ride" (Freeway blast at over 160kph!! the service guy boasted), and seen a mates bike come from it's 1st ever service with a chain so taught it had no up/down movement at all.

On the other hand, there are those places that just do servicing and don't sell bikes. These usually do a fantastic job, except Balls Performance who fry you battery, fail to do half the work asked and cover the bike in hard to remove stickers!

EDIT* As a side note, I got offered a free test ride on a Buell when the t Lightening first came out. Headed to the shop with a mate and prepared to have some fun. Got handed a disclamer with a lot of small print, so decided to read it. The exces was huge, and no matter the reason or cause of any damage to the bike I was Liable. I asked the guy, "if you don't set up the brakes right and I crash, and I;ve signed this, it makes me liable?' He said yes, so I shredded the papers and have never riddena Buell.
