Bloody Reeton gravel we need to do something
Just passing on a really good idea. Done emailing and filling the form.

All in Melbourne know by now that the Reefton Spur has had a 2km stretch of it COVERED in gravel for over 6 months now
I call on all of you ksrc folk to:
Email the Shire of Yarra Ranges Road at <mail@yarraranges.vic.gov.au> subject: Att: Civil Development Services Department
AND to email the Shire Road Safety Officer, Mark Maguire <markmcguire@yarraranges.vic.gov.au>, to get off his but and get rid of the gravel (softer coaxing and encouragement works best)
And also I want each of you to go to:
http://www.yarraranges.vic.gov.au/page/ ... Form_Id=22
and fill out in the location of Required maintenance: Reefton Spur
tick sealed roads
and in the what maintenance is required write something like:
You need to send a street sweeper up the road and collect all of the loose gravel that has been sitting there for over 6 months now, since the last roadworks. This is an extremely dangerous road at the moment as fellow motorist, especially motorcyclists, are having frightful accidents there. Please send a mechanical sweeper up immediately. Waiting for passing 4WD vehicles to sweep the road clean is an appalling act of road safety mismanagement which will most certainly lead to liability litigation
This is a dangerous road now, but it used to be so much fun, lets all get together and encourage the right people to work towards getting this twisty stretch safe again
Thanks for giving some time

You would think the Insurance companies would be chasing the road repair gangs{councils}it must be a drain on their finances, every crash hits them harder{and ups our premiums} maybe the councils are just lazy and want the tintops to roll in the fine gravel{surley its illegal to leave the roads in that dangerous state?}cheers GB
I just got a reply back Refton is Vicroads issues and road to maintain.SenNey wrote:Is that section of road Vicroads responsibility or the local councils?
All the emails to Mark M will go no where.
Here is a link FOR ALL road issues http://mraa.org.au/forum/modules/liaise ... ?form_id=2
It goes to MRA and vicroads, we then have a copy of any issues, and we can chase it up with them during out next meeting.
