04 ZX636 engine case paint code

Post by fitzy »

i'm wondering if anyone has, or knows how to find, the paint code for the engine cases on an 04 zx636. (im pretty sure most of the current kwakas have the same colour as well)

it would be much easier if i knew the code, rather than taking a part off and getting a shop to colour match it.

i have been told that kwaka dealers sell the touch up paint, but rang the bowen hills dealership this afternoon and he told me no go.

thanks in advance, sean.

I've been searching for the same thing ever since my 12 fell over. I talked to a few spray painters that do bikes, and was told, altough they can match the paint it will eventually come off  The best alternative is the propper engine enamel stuff you get in pressure packs from Autobarn. I'm going for a gold colour as it's the closest they've got to the bronzy looking colour they all seem to be. Just waiting for a nice warm day to prep and spray it.

Confirmed. My Wife's bike had some paint on the engine cover and it has come off....... I dont know if paint comes in some sort of heat resistant variety.... but that would be required to make it stay on I guess....
The world is round. It has no point.

i've got a few minor scratches on my casing too :(

I've emailed colorite to find out if there stuff is heat resistant.

Otherwise i think powder coating is the way to go...

:?

Will be keen to hear your results
