2007 GSXR1000 to have engine management/traction control

Post by aardvark »

The 2007 Gixxer Thou has a new headlight, exhaust and other bits.
Plus: A 3 way ECU with 3 different settings on the handlebar: Sports mode, Wet mode and Normal to control the power delivery.

I wonder how long it will be under the other manufacturers follow suit?

i like it! so cool how you can control the power through different settings but i dislike the front lights and the exhaust. if only they made the exhaust under the seat.

did they say how much it would be going for yet/

Don't they have a "cafe' cruise' mode and "riding in runners" mode or is that on the AU model only ?

looks wise it looks a tiny bit different, nothing that really stands out for an original look! As for 3 settings, interesting, but would b interesting to know if there is much difference

those wet/dry/whatever controls are the same as what they run on the gp bikes.

Still looks very weird.

If they put a shorty on for looks, why make it so bloody fat :? . It looks like a punched nut

It's going a bit far to call an ECU map toggle, which just retards the ignition and reduces the injector on-time for a blanket drop in torque throughout the rev range, a "traction control" system.

Somehow, I'm not surprised the dumbfucks at Raptors&Rockets are doing it.

Yes, when a manufacturer launches a new model at a bike show in continental Europe, one of the things they always include in their presentation is the precise retail price it will sell for in Australia when it goes on sale in six months' time.

Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

a mate had a gix with sum fancy ECU system with a 3 way toggle (on his 02) for that same reason....
he had 3 settings-
1.wet/ retarted
2.normal
3. rich/run from cops/track days.

was good in theory...
