Random Drug Tests

Post by Benno »

I'm pretty sure as of today fella's, police (At least here in Vic) Will now be carrying out random drug tests.

I work out at Melb Airport, and they had a patrol car waving in cars on Melrose Drive for drug testing this morning. Just a friendly warning, to those who enjoy some slightly more recreational activities.

Just like drink driving, if your not in control of yourself, you shouldn't be in control of a car/bike etc.

No sympathy :)

Some more info for those who may need it

The consumption of THC will be detected for several hours after use. The exact time will vary depending on the amount and potency of the cannabis used and on the individual's metabolism.

Drivers who may have inactive THC residue in their bodies from use in previous days/weeks will not be detected.

methylamphetamine

A driver who tests positive for THC or methylamphetamine will be advised by police not to drive until the drug is no longer detectable in their system (up to 4 hours for THC and up to 24 hours for methylamphetamine).

Jess drove through one of the drug bus's when they were first released. They're now making all booze bus's into drug bus's as well

Expect delays, they can take upto 5-10 minutes for a drug test.

No where near as quick as the breath test.

Random drug test - is that like buying an eighth, making sure it gets you high and then going back for an ounce?

I was told by a NSW cop that they are going to do the same shortly in NSW. Not sure about us up here in QLD but i am sure we will follow the other states. I think it is a good thing.

I dont think drugs and booze are our main problems on the road,
i think they should teach dickheads to drive properly 1st.
Being a motorcycle courier i see it all everyday. Some people just have no fucking idea and dickheads on mobile phones is another big gripe of mine.

A freind of mine has a good antidote to this.If he pulles up next to dickheads on there phones and tells them to get off the phone. If they tell him to fuck off or whatever he tells them he is an off duty cop and if they dont get off the phone he is gunna book em.He get pretty good results.

Excuse my ignorance, but how is a random drug test conducted? Do they make you piss in a bottle or something?
