worst habbit of old, the old YZF600 thundercat had no reserve switch and the fuel light was broken. i never used to take note of how many kms i had done on each tank, i finally learnt after running out of fuel 5 times in 3 weeks. the final time i pulled up at the lights and this guy in a 180sx wanted a drag, he had his window down and was verbally revving me up for a drag, so i sat there and told him that he was an idiot (very politely of course) and pointed out that his riced up poop couldn't beat an excel in a drag never mind my sweet dog bike. anyway lights went green and no sooner had my clutch been reliesed than i had that big twist of nothingness that happens when you run out of fuel
of course he swung round and reminded me that i wasn't so 'cool' now....

I just bought my GPZ1000 RX, riding home saw a girl on the footpath wearing the tightest jeans and t- shirt I just couldn't drag my eyes of her, forgot the intersection and the cars in front and ran it straight into the back of a station wagon full of little kids, ya should have seen their faces just before impact, no real damage to the bike mainly my pride.

First one is from the State Champs this year. In the last race, at the end on the cool down / in-lap, I am rolling through the last corner before the pit exit at maybe 60-70 kmh when I think I see someone I recognise in on the hill waving. So I do a double take and look back again. When I look forward again I have run way wide and go straight off the track (no time for brakes etc.), through the grass, then the dirt, and smack into the middle of the gravel trap.

Kept it up, but bike is bogged, people are watching, and the rest of the field is just filing into the pits looking at me like WTF? The Cool down lap? Took me what seemed like ages to bounce it out with the rear wheel spinning, but I really did not want to get off the bike. When it finally got out of the gravel I nearly lowsided it when the spinning rear hit the grass. As much as it was embarrasing it was very funny, I was laughing my head off at the time.

The other time is me, Redleader and Mojo lined up at a set of lights after a big day's ride through the hills etc. with the KSRC crew. Anyway we are all staging up for a little...er...straight line test of sorts. I think I can beat them on my Zephyr to atleast the other side of the lights if I can get the holeshot, so I rev the thing up etc. and generally make it obvious what my intentions are.

The light goes green, I let out the clutch and hit the gas and nothing. Stalled the sucker! The other 2 take off, and there are cars behind me etc. So I start it up with the throttle still open to the stop, and without thinking let go of the clutch. Enter my first wheelie. Instantly at like 60 degrees, threw me half off the bike. So my feet are dangling behind the bike, I cannot let off the throttle coz I need that hand to hang onto the bike..... Anyway I managed to stay on the bike and the front came down when the road started to rise and the thing ran out of revs, and I climbed back on. The whole intersection full of traffic would have had a great laugh at it all, and Mojo and Redleader missed the show!

Damn bikes are fun....

Here's one, not mine, but I think the racers amongst us will get a little kick outta it!!

A well known local Victorian racer, still racing today, pulls up on the SBK grid at a national meet in about 1996, and as he rolls to his grid position pulls a stoppie........which he proceeds to overbalance on and fall flat on his face with his SBK on top of him at the grid!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?
