Hammering out of a 25km corner on the Uraidla to Mt Lofty Rd and over a ridge where everyone gives the front wheel some lift. For some reason I must have been in a hurry that day cause I exited the corner, gave it the berries and sure enough up came the front.........followed by a large over rev as the rear left the road as well. Didn't think much to it, rear came down really easy and I went to wind it on and set up for the next corner. I didn't realise fully in my exicitement that the front was still up there and as I wound on I nearly flipped it and truly shat myself. My arse was so puckered at the end of that road i had to get a spatular to separate me from the seat.
and there was this one time......on the western hwy.........
Ahh yes, Stace, Greg Nikos and I tootling along the Western Highway, Stace leading, me right behind sitting sort of close to the speed limit. Both contemplating the intellectual conversation of the previous evening (read getting rat arsed at Billy's Place in Casterton).

Out of nowhere theres Greg and his oh so quiet and subtle 12 screaming past Stace and I at about $1.70, three odd inches from our wing mirrors. Stace and I both got a little head shake through the bars as our bowels simultaneously emptied and brain sent signals to click down, wind it on and catch (if possible) and kill Greg at any cost.

If I remember right Stace that was just a little before the most brilliant display of MX riding I have ever seen on a ZX9 (followed by the funniest display of face down in the wet grass leathers cleaning I ahve ever seen)

On this years Halls Gap trip, After waiting at Ararat for Tail End Charlie to come through i started to work my way back up toward the front. Passing Greg and some others as they swept through Moyston, All felt good and Greg tagged along for the spiritted run into Halls Gap. Just out of Moyston with Greg on my hammer we slipped into a nice left hander at about $1.80. I hugged the corner a little tighter than Greg and hit some ripples that started of a lovely case of head shake. I'm buggered if i know how i stayed on (More arse than class), I just wound it on, closed my eyes and waited for it to stop slapping from lock to lock.

Still havn't been able to get that stain out of my leathers, not to mention the Banger that turned from an external to an internal garment

Ahhh Plas, the memories of Gregs fly by on the way back from Casterton springs to mind as well
ahh yes....two lots of of brown undies that day....

i have never seen a bike look as much like a piece of licorice as staces 9 that day. it farken wobbled and twisted like it was made of jello or something...

Ohhh Mate, those were the days. That was a blast of a trip. Can't wait for the next. But you won't see me motocrossing the 9 like that again. Hmmmm And you thought that was mud all over my leathers

It's all coming back now... very similar thing happened to me on last years trip. hovering up around redline in top gear on the mighty zzr and got my first ever massive tankslapper coming round an uphill left hander... picked the corner again this year and took it a little slower ;)

And let's not forget that famous wheelie. On the way to arthurs seat with two other 250's. a zxr250 and a fzr250, so both a little bit quicker than the zzr.
Not to be outdone, racing away from the lights I just revved a little harder and dropped the clutch a little quicker. Bam!! up she comes, feet nowhere near the footpegs.
So there I am riding along thinking shit I'd better get this under control before the front comes down, legs flapping around behind the bike trying to find the pegs. Finally get it all under control, look around and see the others on either side pissing themselves laughing. Was damn near verticle apparently.

As a newb, I was splitting South along Sydney road in between the parked cars and the bumper to bumper traffic. [GPX250 at the time]

It was hot and the drivers were bothered, but I was feeling cocky because I was making good progress and leaving the queue behind...

Up ahead was a break in the queue... which I punched into, only to see that it was a clear way for a side road and it had a crazed frustrated tradey swinging his transit van into the clearway, turning right to duck up the side street.

There wasn't even time for brakes... I barely had time to tense up for the impact... it all happened so quickly... we both ploughed on... and DIDN'T collide.

I swear he missed my rear by a couple of centimetres. He would have been able to see the individual dust spots on the back of my jacket as he drove past.

The brown staining came a split second later when I realised what I just avoided by sheer luck.

Roadcraft tip: ALWAYS approach gaps in peak hour traffic with CAUTION when splitting.

Road with soft edges coming back from Cobden. I was leading ride, for a good reason, I was completely and utterly observing the speed limits that day. My name might as well been John Citizen. Anywho. Come "puttering at about 180kmph+" along a left hand bend, as I'm Rolling on up in the rev range in 5th (tl1000r), I notice a flock of 200+ Sheep in the middle of the road not far away. Lock up rear, wobbled to a complete stop where Farmer joe was on his quad bike, wearing a grid iron helmet and had his beard touching the tank asked me if i was ok and i said yes but i gotta go warn the others!!!!

Shat me pants that day!!

agreed, had something almost identical to Robsalvv happen to me 3 yrs ago, but we both braked and the mazda 121's bumper stupped 3 inches short of hitting me in the right leg. Looked at her with a sheepish "gee i fucked up" look and got the hell out of there.
