Has anyone else out there seen this movie?

It was on Foxtel (again) last week. Its about an unofficial race across the US, by invitation. The only bike is a Kwaka, ridden by a guy who never speaks.

Has some great cars too, and has Raul Julia as a professional Ferrari Racing driver, otherwise noone too famous.

This is one of our fave movies, and just wanted to know if anyone else has seen it.

Saw it eons ago, blood old now but for MASH fans, Jamie Farr aka Max Klinger is Kooky Kawasaki IIRC. Think it was the movie that was on before SLAPSHOT, which was another cool but wieerd movie.

Don't recall which came first, but the more popular version is Cannonball Run with Burt Renolds. Has a host of cameos, Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Deam Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr. I have 1&2 on DVD. Same era, also have Smokey & The Bandit 1&2 and Convoy.

The Gumball Rally was the original and in my opinion the best,the real stars of the show are a Ferrari Daytona soft-top (4.4l V-12,375ps) and an AC Cobra (7l,V-8,lots) rather than the actors which is what spoils the latter film for me,it's all about the cars.

There was an original race called the Gumball for the reason that that was the winners prize,a piece of gum from a gumball machine at the finish line.

Anyway it's an excellent movie,wish I had Fox,seeing as how it's Monday it'll be Top Gear for me instead.

oh theres plenty of famous people in the gumball if your into cars, im pretty sure Dado enters regularly, he is in a yellow modified BMW, and yeah, its an awesome race.

Not Klinger. Some pommy bloke IIRC. I actually have it on DVD. Region 1 though. If you're after any info on movies you can't go past the internet movie database.

goanna thats because its not a MOVIE in the sense... its more of just a feature dvd, like most car dvd's.... maybe not getaway in stockholm though... that should be on there.

It was a KH500 3cylinder 2 stroke...........fark I wish I could get me hands on one now. Totally insane bit of kit when it hit the powerband, elastic frame and wire wheels were a bitch to clean

Bit of a threadsurrection but It's on again right now, about halfway through. Happened to find this thread as hit #2 while looking up what the bike model was via google!
