Mods to 05' Z750

Post by DavidZ750 »

Hey Fellas,
I'm a newie to this forum but I just wanted to get some people's opinion on an air filter for my bike. This is my first time doing mods to my bike so Im a virgin at this. Ive got a 05' Z750 and Ive put a staintune exhaust on it. I'm looking at an upgraded filter and maybe a power commander. Will either of these make much difference to the bike?
I've also heard about re mapping?? Is that something I should consisder as well with modifying?
Looking to hear some thoughts on this topic.

I wouldn't bother with these unless you put on a full system.

An air filter won't give any HP and unless you change the exhaust a power commander won't do anything...

just replace the stock filter with an aftermarket one when it is due to be changed....

The stock filter for my 05 ZX6R, is $80.... whereas I can get a K&N one from o/s for about that......and then only have to clean it now and then.

I'm a firm believer in getting them to handle and brake better before increasing HP.

Suspension setup.
Braided brake lines.

Bling mods
Fender eliminator..
Single seat cowl

Sound and a couple of HP
Slip on pipe..

I have done some minor mods to it for looks. I have got a staintune slip on, fender eliminator and clear blinkers. I was thinking of putting the Z1000 screen on but I'm not too keen on drilling into the original front fairing. I'm happy with how it looks but just wanted to do some mods to hopefully up the HP or make it ride a little better.
