I'm looking at an 89 zx10 but it has a noisy top end ( sounds like tappets ) is this a major problem or pretty normal ??

could just be a kawasaki top end,
the sevens are a bit loud in the top end.

There was a 89 900 motor on here for a $1K the other day.
I just paid $4,5K for the (dereg) wreck of me 12 back and I am sus on its motor AND frame!!!
However it IS my baby so thats my excuse....

dude, for what its worth my old 81 cb900 dropped a bottom end, and cost $3k to fix (parts where a nightmare)....so if the motors shot to shit, ur gunna need to rebuild it urself, or find a donor... the zx10 from that era (based on a GPZ isnt it??) is a little rare...
