Idiots I come across every so often..

About 2mths ago, this kid went to Queensland; came back to find his car was gone from
the street in front of his house. Vehicle was promptly reported as stolen & as it wasent
recovered, we payed the boy out to the tune of $15,000

Police rang us 2wks ago to say they have found the vehicle parked in a yard not even 5
doors down from where the owner of the vehicle lived

So I organise our towie to pick up the car & have it towed to Auction for salvage. A letter
was left for the occupier as no one was home when we took possession of the vehicle.

I hear nothing until this morning when I take a call from some guy whos fuckin fuming

"Why did you take the fucking car?"

I asked him what he meant as the vehicle belonged to us when we paid the insured out
2mths earlier.

Check out his reply..

"I saw that little punk leave for Queensland, so I reported the car to the Council as a
dumped vehicle, so they put a sticker on it warning if not removed then they will tow. I
waited till the 7 days warning finished and pushed the vehicle up my driveway on my
property as no one claimed the vehicle. I waited 30 days and rang RACV & took out
membership on it so I now have a financial interest in the vehicle. It is mine and I want
you to return to me NOW." *shouting*

I said "Are you serious?"

His reply: "Possession is 9/10ths of the law Chum. I want it back by tomorrow or I will
sue your fucking arse."

"Mate; I'm telling you now, the vehicle is not going to be returned to you. So based on
what I've just told you, you do what you think you need to do"

The call ended and I thought fuck this dude.. now I'm going to do what I gotta do; so I
referred the matter to Investigations. They contacted Police who will now charge the fella
with Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

Late this afternoon we started proceedings for $15,000 restitution from his soon-to-be
sorry ass. Next time he'll have 15,000 fucken reasons to think twice before ringing up to
cause a stink.

what did the owner have to say abt all of this? the kid who had been paid out...did he realise it was still in his street??

Owner dosent know.. We'll save him copping assault charges when
he goes over & gives the guy a flogging

Actually I'd reckon he'd go thank him because the car is a piece of
shit & worth no where near 15k. We'd be lucky if we could even recoup
half that amount when its sold.

Yeh.. the owner came back.. thats how he knew his car had been taken
because it wasent where he'd left it.

No idea how he didnt know it was only a coupla doors down. I'd say the
last place you'd look for ya car is in ya neighbours yard. I know I wouldnt.

Not sure how old the guy is. Sounds like hes maybe in his 40's.
Must be a fruit loop because going by what he said & the anger he showed; he
truely thought he could just take a neighbours car & was doing the Council a
favour in saving them having to organise a tow.

The best ones are ppl who trash their cars; & worse still, burn their fucken house
down; lodge a claim only to have it denied because it was proven they were
fraudulent. Not only have they lost their house/car, but they get loaded up with
criminal charges & no one will insure em again for yrs to come.

im still amazed this dude thinks he can just "repo" a car thats sum1 elses!!...what a nob!!

I pay 1245 through WQBE... got quoted $980 through shannons.....

then just did an online quote on arista's 'MYBIKE' and it came up with $178........... now that is weird..... might give them a call!
