NKD 12 Canvas

Post by FrogZ »

OK guys and gals
Here is the blank canvas, what do I do with it

My personal choice so far is a bit of stunt and bit of naked/streetfighter.
You havent got that option but..... sorry, one or the other...
Arent 12's wicked sans clothes??, and thats not the tank it's the FRAME
Gotta polish that for a start and make it and the motor the feature (my thoughts so far)

Feel free to mod the pic and post results, I like the ideas.
And has anyone got any pics of the Naked 12 that was at the Auto Salon show reported in Rapid??? OR perhaps know the guy and how I contact him ?

Anyway I will keep this thread going as the bike is gotten back on the road while I wait for my licence back....

cut the exhaust pipe lower and put a shorty on it.

Get a custom rear end (very short, so much so it's practically just your seat and the brake light, etc) Then get a rear hugger for the rear, rip off a dash etc from a Z1000. and find somewhere to do a belly pan.

Damo, has a pic of a zx12r streetfighter that was at the E.C. Aussie supers round last year. I went to find the pic but it appears to have been lost in the great crash of 05...

Cmon guys you must have seen the "wing" pics
Tourer is NOT an option, i just put that up there like the power cruiser thing....
Thats what the 14 (or Busa   ) are for.
IF its a naked stunter street fighter I can still tour and track....

IT will be as Duane says.
Shorty GP type exhaust (so I can hear it)
and an ars like a speed trip SANS the pipes up where you last need the extra weight (you sucker fashion victims)

OK OK with a p-pad for lainie

Minimum front guard as aerodynamics is NOT an issue and the 12 ones look WAY too big without a fairing etc.
Neds a belly pan to hide the eventual exhaust and assorted crap.
Maybe some MX/KTM type shrouds for the radiator for the same reason (ie hide all the crap you dont want ppl to see)

SO far the thinking is for a Yammy naked shield type h'light.
Frame (and outer rims) polished, tank chormed (?) or flat black (I like the chrome like a Monster option). Everything else matte/flat black.

This is just SO much fun, I should have stacked it straight up b4 I got the c/f.

slightly offtopic, but speaking of the 1400's, I just saw a bright red one at a bike shop yesterday, and PHARK that's a bloody big bike!!! Looks like it'd weigh about 240-250 or so, but only 210 according to the brochure

Sat on a few bikes to get a bit of an idea what else is out there, sat on the Fz1 and god that thing felt shorter than my old 250.

Yeah you can stunt a 12 but there are alot better bikes out there for a dedicaded stunter. If you want to go down that path sell the 12 and buy something else.

If you did set it up as a stunter then thats it for life. Yeah you could use it for other things but that would mean changing parts all the time ie cages, 12 bars, sprockets.

I say go the streetfighter. Have a look at bladerod for some idea's
