Sounds logical yeah, but as Madkaw says, there isn't a great deal of clearance by the looks of the piccies. But even so, a workshop or race stand is designed, or supposed to be, for working on the bike. The whole idea of a headstock stand as opposed to an under fork leg or axle stand, isthat it enables rapid wheels changes. Obviously this one doesn't!

A little disapointing considering the rear stand was near perfect. Matter of fact, the old stand was always too high for easy rear wheel changes, the new stand is lower and much easier. SO it is unfortunately just that one that doesn't work as it should. have you spoken to the supplier? They seem like very nice people. Or can you flog it orf to a friend who's bike it will fit? Or is it the same with all bikes? Did anyone else buy one and how have you gone? :?

You could try using a couple of car stands.

That's all well and good, but the purpose of a headstock stand is to allow the forks to be removed... sounds like a 10cm-longer horizontal arm is in order for the Kaneg stands.

Hi all, thanks for all the replies

I havent tried it on the Z1000, I'll try it tomorrow.

Didnt try turning the forks (or for that matter, the stand) - there isnt much clearance, but there might be enough. Again, will try tomorrow.

Thanks,

Jeff

The Black Head stand we got is a different design with a larger pivot point on the side arms. I will have to check to see if it has the same drama.

Yeah just turn the bars to one side to pull the axle out, it's the same position on my gixxer... not a big deal.

I have one of those red stands as well. Do you have the correct size spigot as I had to make a sleeve for mine as the 7 is really big (25mm). I just had a look at mine as the bike is on it in the garage and mine comes close but not quite as bad as yours. Having said that I just turned my bars a bit and it will clear just fine. phew - you had me worried for a moment.

It looks like the kaneg stands need to be cut & an adjustable length setup like the Anderson Stands made....
Should be easy enough to do...
