Kwaka Dealer Rumour

Post by HemiDuty »

Local Kwaka dealer told me the other day that the new ZX6R will be 650cc.

Anyone heard anything similar, or contrary?

Wish they would just make them 599cc so they are all legal for racing.

Nope, in fact the rumor doing the rounds a while bike said that they were only going to offer a true 600 next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they did 'go large' though as they are no longer the mostest 600 thanks to that rather spiffy 675.

Don't forget that also offer a 599 for racing purposes so they are already race legal.

Nothing ugly about the 14s at all Frogrider, it's just you bloody 12 riders that is the problem....

Nova, I had heard the 600 thing quite a while back, but this 650cc business is a freshie.

And the 599cc ZX6RR is no good unless you are a big budget team. Most club race bikes are ex-roadbikes or auction fixeruperers, and this is why you see very few Kwakas in local Supersport/Superstock600 racing.... Which really sucks.

And they cost the same....

But yeah, Ive heard that they are doing a 599cc version only next time.... Thus removing the difference between the ZX6R and the ZX6RR
The world is round. It has no point.

How's this for a rub of the crystal ball...

...next year's ZX-6R will come in two versions; a short-stroke 600cc version, and a long-stroked 750cc one.

Suzuki are cleaning up with the GSX-R750. Be about time for someone else to wake up to the potential.

That does actually make a lot of sense  Most riders would prefer the engine characteristics of a 'long-stoke' motor on the road. A 150cc increase over the 'racer' version would be out of the question though so.....bring on the 2007 ZX7R :D

Even if that's only a rumor, might be time to start saving some pennies now.....

It's not; it's something I just pulled out of my arse.

It won't become a rumour until someone repeats in on another board and uses the words "I've got a mate whose cousin's husband is an engineer at Kawasaki and he reckons..."
