Spot on Dazza.
Checked out one of those unmarked cars at the cop parking bay the other day. Mid to dark metallic blue, crappy 10 or so spoked mags that are not real big, no visble aerials, not obviously lowered like most unmarked cars, even a few small stickers to throw you off, nothing noteworthy just on the back side and rear windows various types.
Be careful, don't speed in stupid areas, make logical decisions on where to open it up and if you do keep your eyes peeled.

I got done last month in the M5 tunnel in Sydney by the speed camera which I know is there so I always stick to the limit. I've been using that piece of road every week since it opened 4-5 years ago and this is the first time I've been busted (12k's over the limit). I can't explain how it happened but the rudest shock was to discover that the points for this offence which used to be 1 three years ago is now 3.
They now don't differentiate between 0-15km & 15-30km as far as points go. This puts speeding by 5k's over the limit in the same class as going through a red light in terms of points loss.
Is this the same for you guys in the other states and do you have to wait 3 years for your points to expire?
I've heard Queenslanders get a better deal than their southern neighbours do.

13-20km over is 3 points and $150
20-30km over is 4 points and $250
30-40km over is 6 points and $350
40km+ over is 8 points and $700 and 6 month suspension.
I think we get it pretty easy here in QLD

You need to have a residential address in QLD.kc wrote:So as a NSW licience holder, if I get done doing 10Ks over while I'm on holidays in QLD, how many points do I get off my licience (and if the administration of liciences is a state responsibility, what's stopping me from getting a QLD licience on top of the NSW one I've already got).

You need to have a residential address in QLD. Which also mean's you'd need to vote.kc wrote:So as a NSW licience holder, if I get done doing 10Ks over while I'm on holidays in QLD, how many points do I get off my licience (and if the administration of liciences is a state responsibility, what's stopping me from getting a QLD licience on top of the NSW one I've already got).
