re: Michelin PILOT POWER tyres!
On a side note with regurd to picking on Hardley Fergusons, How many here have actually ridden a Hardley?
I have ridden only (1), a friend of mine who also owns a 2003 R6 bought a 1200 Sportster & I had a ride on it from Landsborough to Maroochydore, around Caloundra & back to Landsborough & you know I don't think I have giggled so much when riding a bike on the road before. I mean it was reasonably slow, had wooden brakes & was none too confidence inspiring around corners, but it was so much fun, the noise from the exhaust was so COOL, it was mandatory to accelerate thru all the gears, slow down & do it all again.
At every set of lights I pulled up at I would give it some revs & roar away from the lights like the typical danger to society that I had become & the sight & sound of my mate on his R6 & the Hardley having a race from the lights would have been entertaining to hear & see.
Anyways I thought it was worthwhile letting you all know that I had a ball on my (1) & only ride of a Hardley & maybe if you haven't ridden (1), go & try it out, I think you just might enjoy it!

re: Michelin PILOT POWER tyres!
I rode a Harley once.. Wont say where, or who it belonged to.
Thrashed the crap out of it. It would only stand up on the rear wheel with a huge handful of clutch and that was scary enough that I only did it once.
By the time I got to the final location, the thing wouldn't idle, just kept stalling.
POS!

Never ridden a Harley, don't think I want too!
The Triumph Rocket 3 looks pretty tough though
Ahem ... anyway I was wondering if anyone had some real-world feedback on the Pilot Power? A direct comparison to how they grip/feel/wear compared to the old Pilot Sports would be great!

Well that's not saying muchmfzx6r wrote:I can only compare them to Dunlops and they beat them Hands down !mario

Seriously though, I've never felt confident with any of the Dunlops I've owned. They have been my least favourite tyre... oh except for the lovely Michelin M59X's that came standard on my ZZR600. I'm sure they were more hard-plastic than rubber - perhaps even the first tyre to be conctructed devoid of any rubber in the compund what-so-ever

So which model Dunlop did you run before Mario? What sort of mileage are you getting out of the Pilots compared to the Dunlop?

re: Michelin PILOT POWER tyres!
Well I am on my 3rd rear tyre for the 636, the previous 2 being pilot sport & the 3rd now a power. I can honestly say the power does give me alot more confidence to get on the gas harder & earlier & I definitely have to go alot faster to get the rear to back into a corner without it kicking around, so there is definitely more grip available.
My friend had the crappy OEM D208's on his 03 R6 & they are a terrible tyre, he changed to the powers & couldn't be happier. everywhere the 208s would slide the powers grip & even at higher speeds the powers still hang on without big slides.
If you were happy with the Pilot sports you will be even happier with the Powers, the only negative I have heard about were the greater chance of getting a flat as Michelin had removed some reinforcing from the centre of the tyre?
