Female Racers Websites?

Post by esie »

Does anyone have any information regarding websites or other resources about women motorcycle racers? I have mentioned to our WIMA Qld newsletter editor about writing some articles about this, but there is very little information out there.....

Thanks!
Cheers,
Anne

I'm guessing your fishing Stereo but just incase your not, Yes they are. We (The Ballarat Rovers MCC) currently have about 6 female members that race Motocross. And there are also 3 women racing the 125GP class in the Oz Superbike Championships

See i do know stuff

Yes, I was fishing....

I know of one chick that is doing very well in the GP125's..... although she does have a purply pink bike with flowers painted on it.... which kinda takes away from her street cred.... And I saw a girl racing at Broadford on Sunday.... I think she was in the 400cc class.... There was another girl wondering around race leathers too, so I asume she was racing also...

Best thing to do would be to get involved in a club....

If it is the same girl in the 400 class Stereo, her name is Lisa Brothers, and she is a might slippery!!! I fink from memory she has a PB around Broadford of a 65 on a 400!!! Her corner entry speeds are amazing and a little scary  I raced against her in my first meet back last year. She beat me in the first race too!!! That certainly doesn't make her fast by definition, but a 65 on a 400 isn't too shabby.

As aardvark said, Cath Thompson is one of the best known locally, you might find some info on her at http://www.formula-xtreme.com.au there was also a girl racing in 250gp world champs a few years back http://www.katja-poensgen.de/engl/index2.html but I don't think she is racing any longer.

A friend of mine is super quick on a 125GP, goes by the name of Kelly Smith. She would kick my ass on equal machinery, but of course I tell myself it is because she weighs less than me....

Still she is a chik so I would never ask her what she weighs! 8)

remember how we were sayin how good a series the 400s are and how quick they were through the corners. well the orange bike that won the first race, was being ridden by a chick. a good lookin one at that.
and in the second race she had the biggest stack of the day. she was friggin movin when she lost the front end. i think she can salvage a few bolts.
