Is it just me or.... [fat thread warning]

Post by NovaCoder »

Are bikes getting uglier?

My theory is that euro emissions are turning sex on two wheels into a rather embarrassing damp patch on the mattress of life.

To back up my controversial theory I Herby present the following photographic evidence of my pick of the worst offenders out of this years range:

Obviously we've always had a few 'ugly ducklings' to admire :P

Good thread, I was thinking the same. WTF with that FZ1 exhaust hey ? The japs must've hired an italian designer :x

That Desmo RR looks very much like Nakano's ZX-RR!!! What Kawasaki should've done is put a nice eye on Nakano's bike. Not the ones on current 10R!!

Hopefully the next zx6r does not follow suit.

I don't know if you'll get too much support on your theory mate. I reckon the front end on the new 14 is one of the best in the business. But i'm with you on the trumpy. VERY COOL.

Thanx, but I'm sure a lot of people won't agree (looks are a personal thing after all).

Looks are definitely personal.
The Japs have an obseession with 'organic" design.
So we have bikes modeled on Raptors (COOL) like the R6
Unfortuantely they also like dolphins a lot (taste better than tuna) and are into Koi or carp.
The fact that the 10 looked a little like a fish was OK
That the 14 looks like a bug eyed gold fish is cause for execution.....
When they mix organics with the old side stakes off a RF900 you just get one ugly SOB bike.
The only thing good about a 14s styling is you cant see it when you are on it.

Yep I seen it in the flesh, its no different. FUGEN nice bike but....

I'm with JP on this one. The front of the 14 is menacing! The Gixxer 750 actually doesn't look too bad.

As for the Trumpy. Am I the only one that finds it a little bland?

Yep apparently Triumph have decided to follow Honda rahter than Kwaka now.... the 675 is uninspiring to ride too....

Lucky they kept the Kwaka airbox growl or it would be so good it sucks...

...and I bet you Cathcart has already ridden the bugger too...

So whats the cost?
I am guessing $100K after you trade your Senna MV, 999S and Enzo Ferrari in on it....
