Well how do speed cameras work
by taking a time over two points of travel to determine the speed and if the speed is greater than the speed limit, u get snapped.
The cameras on the way to Geelong are averaging cameras. it takes ur average speed over a certain distance and the last camera will snap u if u r travelling to fast.

I hear that am not too certain of the truth of it though, if this is the case that would mean that camera a takes your photo travelling at say 95kmh and it must then tell camera b that car rego # abs123 has just passed me at 10:45am and it should pass you at roughly 11:03am kinda thing.mrmina wrote:Well how do speed cameras work![]()

Personally I find that a little hard to swallow as this would mean that if you reach camera b prior to 11:03 then it will take your photo even if you're doing say 80kph as you pass said camera...
Might sound good but me thinks the timning thing is BS.

A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

hate to disappoint ya mate but that is exactly how they work.they have been used in the UK for over 5 years. Optical character recognition of number plates, it has now led to the UK getting rid of the GATSO. The UK have also linked them to the Driver Licensing centre (tells them if the vehicle is rego'd) and the Insurance company database (tells them if it's insured)
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
