sit baaaaaack in your seat while leaning back a bit and clutchdump from 6-8k and away you go with a little bunnyhop or perhaps a stall if your bike really doesnt wannt to play ball

zx6r-clutch
vtr1000 -power
bikes i borrow/test ride/loaners- woteva it takes to get em standing...can i borrow sum1's bike?? kidding..
cbr929-both..
before the sprocket change id power it in 1st,and try to change then...id clutch it in 2nd...
since the sprocket change i either power it in 1st, clutch it in 2nd, stand up in 2nd with power (most ppl wheelie THEN stand up, i stand to shift weight then lift it), or 2nd gear power it up sumtimes, and clutch it up in 3rd sumtimes...
i tend to find i have better feel clutching it in 2nd then changing to 3rd,4th..but if i power it in 1st the revs r so hi, and i cant get it in 2 2nd 4 sum reason..ill just practice more wen i get it back..and INSURE it..

re: Wheelies... power up or clutch up?
I've had the front come up on me numerous times whilst blasting over Mount Glorious. Come over small rises with the throttle flast and she comes up nice and smooth.
Deliberately, either power on-off-on or clutch, maybe a couple of inches.
So I'm thinking fuck it. No point trashing neither, I'll get a 46 tooth rear sprocket and do it then.

re: Wheelies... power up or clutch up?
haven't tried much(bad experience in younger days) but will have 2 get out & practice a bit more. might wait till i get my leather pants & some better boots. my 6 has come up on power a couple of times, but nuthin' major & i dont weigh much either so that helps 2.

re: Wheelies... power up or clutch up?
Despite writing off my immaculate CBR1000F when I was 19
doing a two up wheelie, I still LOVE monos!
Totally hooked. Owning a ZX9 doesnt help either. The thing has an auto-mono function that kicks in most times the bike leaves the stationary position.
The 9 will easily lift it in first without the clutch, 2nd with the clutch (and sometimes without if the conditions are just right). And during extreme abuse sessions recently at an Oran Park stunt day, 3rd (poor girl
).
50,000ks and I'm about to fit a new clutch. Kevlar heavy duty of course!

re: Wheelies... power up or clutch up?
well the sprockets on my cbr make it easy, -2 +3 lol but any road bike if its just a stand up then i bounce using the pillion peg, and tank wheelies etc clutch only, so much smoother than power wheelies!
Rin nin nin *pop*, Ahh the sound of a 2 stroke!
re: Wheelies... power up or clutch up?
my 636 pops right up, itl pop in 2nd too. power=easy, clutch=hard
re: Wheelies... power up or clutch up?
ive standard gearing on my 7R and find it a real bitch to power up.
so i only ever clutched it.
