Never know... she might've actually done it properly and taken the road toll as a function of total distance travelled.

If people are driving further, they are spending more time on the road, where they can die in a car crash. Ergo, the total number of fatalities can increase without the fatality rate increasing in step.

What's more, with 1,000 people moving to SE Qld from Sydney and Melbourne a week...

"horrific" rates is a bit dramatic isnt it...

yeah i know that a lot of bike riders are killed each year buts its nowhere near the amount of car drivers/passengers who are killed each year.

yeah there is more car drivers out there than bikes. maybe they should focus more on cars for a little while and harrass the shit out out of them.

teach them to stop running over bike riders.

Driver says - "ooops i didnt see that bike rider..."
the law says - " well you should of looked so here is your $700 fine - please try not to do it again..."

This is utter bullshit :x and the reason i don't watch the news or read the useless paper. "Most" what kind of a scientific measurement is that? And what car drivers did they survey? Certainly not the ricey boys that flog all over Mt Gravatt. Most riders are actually quite tame I recon.

Bullshit second-rate Uni, bootlicking to the current political dogma is all I see

Bob I agree with ya on the above points, I think the problem with accepting a few fatalities is that the ratio of riders to drivers fatalities far outweighs the actul numbers, ie ratio cagers/riders might be 10:1 but accident stats are probably reflecting a 3:1 type ratio.

The other prob with leaving enough room to stop is at least in Melbourne that also leaves enough room for some cager to slip and take your 2-3 second gap so you're almost riding backwards kinda sorta...
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"
