Braided Brake GB - ***First lot have arrived!!!***

Post by NinjaMoses »

Updated 7th June!

See the first post on the 6th page guys! Lines will now be getting posted direct from Hel to you!

cheers,
Kris

**************************
See the last post in this thread guys about possible customs charges.

I just want to make sure everyone is aware of it so they dont hate me if Im forced to charge people an extra $10 - $15.

Hopefully that wont happen though.

Kris

*****UPDATED 30TH MAY*****

Just a quick update guys, I have now received payment from all of you.
Thanks heaps to everyone for making it a quick & painless process!

Unbelievably we have over 80 orders now in total across the 3 forums, totalling almost $10k worth of braided lines  . Needless to say I will be making sure it gets sent insured!!!

There are just 1 or 2 payments left to go now from the other forums, and I will be placing the order with HEL sometime later this week.

Due to the sheer size of the order and the fact all lines are custom made per order, I am expecting it to take around 4 - 6 weeks at least for them to get to Perth. As soon as I get them I will try and post them off to everyone the same day.

Thanks heaps for participating in this group buy guys, its awesome to see what we can achieve when we work together!

I will keep this thread updated with any news I receive. If anyone needs to contact me for any reason just PM me or email at krism@wn.com.au, I will always try and respond asap.

thanks heaps,
Kris

*****UPDATED 25TH MAY*****

Over the next hour all of you will be receiving a PM with your order details and payment info. If you have not received one by this evening, please PM me and let me know.

Also I have updated everyones orders in the list below. If your order is incorrect (colours, amount of lines etc) PLEASE let me know since I will be using this list when we place the main order.

Once I receive payment for each person, I will be highlighting their order in blue to signal they have payed up.

Any queries please post em or PM me. Thanks guys,

cheers,
Kris

*****UPDATED 18TH MAY*****

This group buy is for a HEL braided brake line 3 line kit for just $115 AU. This is *incredibly* cheap, with the best other offer so far being over half as much again. All colour options as seen on the HEL UK website are available.

If you cant be bother clickin on the link, the colours are:
Image
Clear, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Deep Purple, Neon Blue, Denim Blue, Blue, Green, Carbo Look, Black

According to Andy (see my post further down this thread for his post - quoted from another forum), the lines are approved for use on Australian roads and also carry an international warranty.

To give you an idea how cheap this is, the normal price through an Australian dealer for a 3 line HEL kit is $230!

This group buy will run for another week or so before we place the order. Cash is required before the order is placed obviously, but the money side of it will be sorted out next week.

We are now confirming orders, if you are interested please post in this thread with the following information (in this format exactly to keep it neat).

Bike Make:
Bike Model:
Bike Year:
Line Colour:
Fittings Colour:

2 line kits (1 front, 1 rear ONLY, *not* 2 front) for 250s are also available for $100, so are 4 line kits for those with hydraulic clutches for $160.

If you have already confirmed your order on either PerthSteetbikes or PerthRiders please do not confirm it here also.

*NOTE: All lines will be delivered to Perth to keep things simple. If you do not live in Perth it will cost you approx $10 extra to have them posted to wherever you are in Australia.*

cheers guys,
Kris

Ahhh that explains the lack if interest. Geez how did I miss the last one!

If you dont mind saying, who did you organise the last buy through? Was that for HEL or Goodridge lines?

cheers,
Kris

We went with the Hel lines from Austreetfighter.com.
They gave us 15% of for 10 or over.
We had about 12 I think..

It took a while for them to get the lines, from 2 to 4 weeks...
Other than that it was a pretty smooth deal and the lines are fine..

BTW, can you shrink your sig by about 30% its over our recommended size.. :-)

Another question for people who participated in the group buy a month or two back...

Do the HEL lines you purchased have any kind of label on them to say they are ADR approved etc? Since they took so long to be delivered Im guessing they came from overseas? Have been doing a lot of reading about certain brake lines not being road legal, and I was just wondering what sets the legal ones apart.

I have since found out from the great people at AuStreetfighter...

HEL lines are ADR approved through their FMVSS106 rating. They carry a small yellow tag stating the manufacturer name - as reqyired by AU ADR's. Although all HEL lines are approved you will receive no warranty if you purchase from overseas

Looks like all HEL lines are ADR approved, but only ones purchased locally wil l have a warranty.

Still chasing up prices at this stage, will let everyone know in the next few days.

Thats odd as Austreefighter told me the Hel lines on Ebay, for much cheaper, are not ADR approved and are old stock....

Didn't really matter as they didn't have any for a zx10...

Anyway, I do have the yellow HEL tag on mine...

Heres what they sent me..

Dave,
I just took a quick look at your forum - I see some people are buying HEL lines from Diversedeals on eBay. I must warn you - these lines are NOT ADR compliant!!! I am the importer for HEL in AUS and have talked to Simon from HEL about this guy. Apparantly he bulk purchased a large batch of lines a few years ago intended for another country that were NOT manufactured to the same specifications, and he does not fully understand or know what each kit is!! He will not offer any after-sales support either.
Just a friendly warning - but if you want it straight from the horses mouth ask Simon from HEL on 001144 1392 811601.
Also, OSB have a reciprocal deal with advertising for us - that's why they get the 10% for OSB Members Plus members (a paid club) only.
Cheers,
