It had to happen. Was riding along Southpine rd in Wanner heading to Albany creek. I didn't see a police bike parked on the otherside and he followed me.
He gave me 2 tickets with 700 fines on each!!! He said I was doing over 40 kph over the limit on both roads even though he didn't have a speed camera. Oh yeah, tallies up to 16 points as well and a 6 month suspension... don't know whether that's double cause of the 2 tickets.
So I am gonna get legal advice on this...
Any sugestions or recommendations of a good solictor who knows the go...

Basically you are buggered, theres no commen sence where police are involved only yellow tickets or at least in queensland anyway they are interested in their kpi and I think they get doubble points for booking a sports bike maybe triple so he booked ya twice to make up for a slow day.
Could try the bike lawywers in the back of the amcn mags but generally from my experiance if the plods book ya it happened or thats the courts view of things.
I turned into a pedestrian and still havnt got around to removing the raceglass from my six yet because i cant afford to not be able to work again for a while.
You can apeal the suspension but a word of warning here because the machine is twisted a bit, i went the appeals route and they said i had to take the 1 point good behaviour for 12 months to go to the appeal which i lost and then had to do the six months suspension BUT when i came off the six months suspension i still have only 1 point because i decided to appeal.
If i just took the suspension i would have a 12 pointer licence but they didnt tell me at the time the bastages.
I dont think people are suposed to own sportsbikes in brisbane and ride them on the road.
Buses suck badly.

your rooted mate, plain and simple, so save your money for cab fares. If you sped on two separate roads it's 2 fines. Lots of people get caught speeding twice past the same camera in the same day and they are gone too. When you get your license back remember to keep a constant eye on the mirrors and up in front, scan scan scan, it's the only way to be sure.

OK, a bit more info... (ha ha didjn't sleep well last night).
Basically, he was parked on the otherside of the road and saw me go by , he had no speed camera (he was asking me what speed i was doing and what rpm - i told him i didn't know, i was looking at the road).
He followed me from the 1st road onto the 2nd road and then pulled me over at the lights. He said 'turn of that bike or i'll knock you off it!'
He then asked me to show the licence and was fuming cause i think he thought i was trying to do a runner when i didn;'t realise anyone was following me until he pulls up next to me at the lights.
After a few mins of questioning, he says, i won't let this go to courts as it will cost you over a 1k for both offences (or something to that) and he writes me 2 tickets, 1 for each bit of road. This is what i can unfair... cause he saw more once, not like i was going 2 different times.
So I worked out this morning that if i don;t fight it, i will pay 1400 (how the hell can anyone afford this) plus 12 months suspension, + 4 months more because the accumlation and i have 2 points already.
The copper said that he was following me on the 2nd road and matched my speed, so i don't really have much recourse, but the 1st road he was just sitting there, in the dark on an empty road... so this is the 1 which i think is possible to plea.
The first road had a 70 zone and the 2nd was an 80 and he put me down for 140 for both He reckoned i was in top gear, but i know that i was only in 4th. So if the judge sees what on the ticket he or she might just say if it was a 45K infringment, ok, but 70 above (no speed gun i remind you) then sod off.
Think I'll be seeing a lawyer next week...

What acctual proof of the offence is there, is it just his word against yours?
If thats the case and your legal advice can find previous instances of this offier making bad decisions or being incompotent that might help as well.
Also as Johhnie mentioned, if he recorded your conversation and you admited the speed you were doing you're sunk for one of the fines maybe.

You can serve your suspensions concurrently. I am currently serving 2 x 6 month suspensions, but I only spend 6 months and 1 day (damn Australia day) actually walking.
You can also pay the fines off at $60 per month, that is only $15 per week, you don't even notice it's gone.
You will probably have to pay both off separately so $120 a month, still not as bad as $1400 upfront.
Barrabob: I can't quite figure out what you were saying, but when you take the good behaviour driving period it lasts for 12 months and if you accumulate 2 or more demerit points in that period you serve double the suspension. When you come off good behaviour, you should be back onto full points as that is what you would have had, if you had taken the suspension.
I'd be making several phone calls to work out where exactly your licence stands.
Personally, I lost mine, took the good behaviour, lost that, appealed it, won and good behaviour was reinstated, lost it again. Serving 6 months for high speed and 6 months for accumulation of demerit points. All up, only 6 months and 1 day actual walking.
As for fighting, gonna cost you $$$ in legal fees. I represented myself but my case was a lot more clear cut than yours, was all too easy for me.

In Queensland, where too many coppers either hear or tell stories about how great it was under Joh, when you could do anything you wanted, it might not be that easy.
If the fine actually changes hands, it becomes much more difficult.
