Best time to do a Cornering/Braking School

seeing as i've been off the road for abut a year - and getting back into riding again, its kinda like having to learn all over again..

my leathers are now on order...

wens the best time (obviously once my leathers come through) but wens the best time to do one of these schools?? - while ur building confidence back? being a noobie? in the more advanced stages?

also has anyone else done any of these schooling days?? u learn much from it??

me been thinking to do one since the begining of the year since it's not cheap so it's been delayed and delayed

what gears will i need???

All of them.... Neutral included

If you are talking about leathers, they do hire them out, and from memory it didnt cost all that much to hire them.... ring them up...

i did level 1 last month and i cant reccomend it enough.

its like someone turns a light on in your head.

did a track day last weekend and am much quicker and feel much more confident than ever before.

i rode in a faster group than normal and was able to hold my position and overtake a few as well all without ever feeling pressured or stressed.

i want to go do level 2 next time they are in sydney.

i reccomend going asap.

I dont think it will matter how long you have been riding cause we tend to learn bad habits on our own and they try to get that out of you at SBS anyway.

i've done levels 1, 2, and 3. The school is great, level 1 will teach u heaps...

i say go for it ASAP, but having said that, try leave it till the last few days (depending on vacancies) when booking so you know the weather forecast and don't get a day that rains.... still the same theory i guess, but nobody likes cornering in the rain... very stressful and you can't go as fast!

thanks guys... also speaking with some other bike mates - and yeah.. highly recommended - esp to get my confidence back... and help me with doing my first track day...

I'd say go as soon as your wallet allows you to, before you develop any 'bad' habits which may be hard to break when you find out you're supposed to be doing something different.

I also suggest buying Keith Code's 'Twist of the Wrist 2'.
AFAIK it's the basis of the Superbike schools anyway, and it contains SO much information that can help every rider out there, not just track day junkies and racers.
