Hmm gets me a little worried about my z750 now, 47XXkm in a year and there is the nastiest chatter in the front end ive ever felt, i can see what they will try and say "how many wheelies do you do?" which is none cos im scared of binning it, hopefully they can pin point the problem.

I would do a bit of independant reaserch nafz750 before i went to the dealer at bowen hills for a assesment, they may try to fill you full of shit and send you away.

I remember when i dropped mine and twisted the lower tripple clamp they said it was all good and sent me packing...I found out some time later that it was not so good and had it repaired hey it was my fault it was bent but they should have said nah its bent it has to be fixed.

what sort of chatter??
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Well today over nebo an glorious, coming into corners, the whole front end felt really loose, not like tyre slip loose but more like the forks were gonna fall off, this was all at slow speed so it wasnt like i was thrashing it.

Then when i got home, i had my old boy have a look and when i held the front brake on hard and rocked the bike fowards and back it was making quite an audible clunking, either in the head bearing or the suspension, if midtown send me packing ill just use LAE racing to do all my work, and complain my ass off to kawasaki.

Yep sounds like steeringhead bearings need attention,I would rather see alex about it too but if its a warranty job rather than a service job its worth having a go at midclowns unless they want ya to book it in and rah, rah, rah.well thats service for ya.

I have just got off the phone to Team moto. Kawasaki is adamant they will not cover the cowl under warranty. However Team moto at Albion have agreed to replace it as a show of good will. Still won't see me back there handing over money for servicing trying to keep an inneffective warranty alive though.

Just a tighten, really... no different to having to adjust the chain, in principle.

It's a 10-minute job.

Confirm the story with Kwaka Aus, then get started on those letters people have mentioned.

Ahh, the old "not under warranty but will replace on good will" story heh.. Thats the 3rd time I've heard that this year...

Had a similar problem with the plastic cover on the tail section of my 10. It had a crack in it so I took it to the local dealer who then informed me Kawasaki wouldn't cover it.
I rang Kawasaki, explained the problem and they replaced the part.
I've found these things normally take a few attempts but generally they come good..

BTW you don't have you have your bike serviced by a Kawasaki dealer to maintain the warranty.

It's pretty shitty time youre had, I didn't have any trouble with Parra Kawasaki ( before they became Team Moto).
I had bought a written off ER-5 it was less than a year old. I had repaired it myself, took it to a track day and the oil light came on as I was heading out of the pits, so packed the bike up and the next week rang Parra Kawasaki to see if it was a known prob or not.
They told me to bring the bike for them to look at, I told them that the bike had been a write off, but appariently it didn't matter cause they still checked the bike over, they had it for over a week and found out the problem was a faulty oil pressure sender unit which they replaced and it didn't cost me a cent, even though I told it had been written off and I had been at a track day.

Like someone said, the part would be worth sweet"F"all to Kawasaki & in my opinion the bike shop should have never even let you get grumpy over it.

I think the dealership should have ordered you a new one & taken it up with Kawasaki without causing you ANY grief.

I know the deal we have with warranty on carpets thru our suppliers is if it's under $1k to fix the problem, just do it & send them the bill.
It's not worth there hassle to send a Company rep 500km's within the next 6 months to look at it.

Anything over $1k to fix can take up to 6 months to get inspected & replaced & we explain that to the customers, but I have only had (2) knockbacks from about (10) complaints over the last ten years & the customer/tenants was at fault in both instances & (1) of those was a rental house & dommestic warranties only cover owner occupied residences.

The other side of taking awhile to replace is you don't have to replace it with the same carpet, so if you want to save abit & throw in extra coin you can get better carpet for a small amount more & you get to keep the old possibly not so bad carpet anyways.

We have replaced 2yo carpet in customers house & relaid it in there rental for a small fee, so they get new carpet in main house & tidy up the rental as well for minimal outlay & the customers happy, happy, happy...
