Rider killed (don't read if ya don't wanna)
Heard on the news this evening:
A rider ion Brisbane was killed when his bike hit the bull-bar of a truck, which was turning across in front of him....
Rider was taken to hospital, but died shortly after...
He was riding a GPZ600...
RIP, and condolences to his family

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Glenn and I rode past the scene yesterday
I saw the truck, it was a b double, and the cops were marking the lines on the road and I thought this doesn't look good.
I looked and there was a bike half hidden in the grass on the side of the road, the tank had been ripped off, it was a reddish color and there was a exhaust pipe on the left side of the bike, made me think it was a ZZR?
Apparently it was a 57yr man old from Rathdowney
He was doing nothing wrong, it so easily could have been us.

like I said here before "I think" I lost a mate once to a light pole over in vic park in WA. I wasn't there when it happened but it affected me profoundly, I sort of lost interest in riding and after a month or so sold my bike. Didn't get another for 4 years. I hind sight I should have just moth-balled it, bloody thing would have been worth a lot now compared to then. A Z1R II with about 40k on the clock
One thing though, ol Darren was a thrasher, always blasting everywhere. He had never had a major stack to make him fully appreciate the dangers out there and I feel lucky that I have broken a few bones on bikes, I watch everything and everyone like a bloody hawk now!
