ZZR11 oil cooler screen mod

Post by chameleon »

Well I had this spare screen laying about and was sick of all the rocks that managed to pass through the one fitted on the bike "holes too big I reckon" so I fitted the second one over the first one, but offset it so it closed the gaps somewhat. I also set the screens out off the face of the cooler a bit so that any rocks that passed through would fall down and out. Before this the rocks would sit against the cooler, trapped by the screen and no doubt vibrate madly against the thin alloy :x

the second one is held in place by a single bolt and 4 cable ties. Unfortunately it was a different size and only one bolt hole matched, so I took the easy way out :)

the flower was in my back yard, I put it in as well, for all the pretty girls that come here wave.gif

Good thinking Frank here's the Radector and Oil Radector on Yappa's 6r.
Just made up the black stainless mesh to fit to the original guards.

call kawasaki and price a new one, you might get a surprize :) Some things are shitfully expensive but others are reasonably priced. When i went looking for stuff they wanted $650 for a new oil cooler but only $80 for a set of throttle cables. I told them to jam the cooler but I bought the cables.

If that doesn't pan, call Brett.

$56 from kawasaki, just got to wait the 2-3 weeks for it to come from japan, lucky me!!

Thanks though Brett, i went OEM simply 'cause the mounting bracket would be a bit of a p.i.t.a. to replicate.
