ps
poster size in cycle torque /wished Kwaka had him

yep, great for Jamie but yamaha has done it again with *more* false advertising.......he didnt use the R1sp for the superbike races - he used last years "normal" R1.

why do they do this shit......i dont understand - its no secret he didnt use the SP

To tall for the street maybe, but I think it's kind of cool that they can do *170km/h without leaving first gear 8)

*indicated

I'm going up 2 or 3 teeth in the rear to get the bottom end back in action a must do b4 i go to the drags on the 15th April as there's really nothing below 5gs but a slip of the clutch at 5gs up she goes other than that a complete power house...

You'll have to add a couple of links into your chain to go up 2 teeth on the back...
I've got a 41 tooth rear sprocket sitting in my garage waiting for the chain to stretch enuff... I'll be waiting a while....

hate to get back on topic

But I tested the 06 10R this week. After spending a few days with 2 different K6's. My response is this:

1. Def a real lack of bottom end - especially compared to K6
2. Delivery not as smooth as I hoped, with one particular wind out nearly spinning the back when the power hit in 2nd... in a straight line
3. Handles very well, very, very well. Very light and nimble.
4. Ride position suits me perfectly (6'2")
5. A fair amount of vibration
6. Demo bike had a small buzz around the dash, just annoying
7. Top-end was awesome. Once the power is in (over 6k) the bike screams

I'd def consider this for superbike racing. For commuting, I'm not sold. I need to ride it again on familiar roads to see it the power delivery issue was a one off. Sadly, out of the box the bike didn't win me over. It would need some work to smooth everything out and thus have me laying out cash.
The Doc says my blood is green. Thankfully, there is nothing he can do to help :)

a mate of mine went from a K4 to an 2006 R1 and he reckons the K4 has smooth power all the way throught, where as the R1 will be piss weak until 8K and then rip ur arms off.

What about the older ZX10R. How do they compare. R they more brutal than the new one :?:
