If you are unsure about tyres for a 10, get the pilots as you won't be dissapointed.

Michelin Pilot Powers on a ZX10R
Just a quick note to let you know that Pilot Powers have transformed the feel and agility of the 10R. Compared to the oe D210 Dunlops, these Pilots are light years better. Only got 2000 miles out of the dunlops so longevity will be interesting witht the michelins.

Tanya gert someone that knows to set the bike up for ya keeping in mind its brand new so neeeds about 6000kms for the springs and stuff to settle.
Could be tyre pressures as well, I tend to go a biit soft on the michelins abd a bit harder on the bridgestones but would get someone like redroo if you can find him to have a look.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

If they don't feel too good, honestly I would be flicking them and bunging a set of Power Pilot's on straight away....tanyathecheeky wrote:I was thinking about putting a post up about it, but i'll ask here instead, the zed has come with a bridgestone bt019 on the front and a BT012 on the back.. they just don't feel nice.. is it just me or would it be worth flicking them and putting powers on straight away?
Having said that, I am almost through the 2nd set of tyres on the 12, which are Pilots, love them, but will trying a set of Diablo's on next, just to see how they go, and compare mileage......
Good luck Tan - and yes, I reckon Roo boy would also be worth checking, see what he reckons.....

Tanya, i wore out both my standard bridgies before 8000 kays, never had a prob with them. but once again, its not run in yet, and that 600 you been riding is a helluva machine, so dont expect too much from the Big Z

The Powers certainly do the business on the 10...great for leaving darkies out of the cornersm801kta wrote:Just a quick note to let you know that Pilot Powers have transformed the feel and agility of the 10R. brrrr, no way.......it will be the Diablo Corsa's.......these were the *very* first tyre recommended to me from CMC as a replacement for the standard dunnies........so as soon as these Pilot's are stuffed, it'll be a set of Corsa's.....Mick C wrote:....Were you just thinking of the standard Diablo's? I'll be interested to see what you think of them...I hated them on the old 9
I took ProblemChilds GSX-R750 for a blast on Sunday, it has new Corsa's fitted, and they felt *bloody great*.......even if you have to tap-dance through the 'box to wind those little 750's along, they are still fun, and the bike itself felt pretty nice all round......

powers =D
Heya - man I lost the link to this forum about a year back with a dead PC. Happy to see its all still going strong
Anyway, scrubbing in PP's on my 04 10r atm and they certainly feel bloody good. No more "take your hand off the bars headshakes" that the oem puss from Dunlop used to give.
Question though... maybe it just me, but the front end feels a little higher on the powers compared to other rubber. Am i imagining things ? cause it feels like the nose needs to be dropped a few mm to speed the front end up a little more. It could also be newfound grip? lol

Welcome back Jas, I was wondering what happened to you.
Got a question for Mick C "Larz" how did the powers rate to the Shinkie Stealth's mate ?. My shinko's are still going ffs cant kill em with a brick, I was also told that they can be grooved as they have "Under Rubber" so may even do that to get another 500ks outta them. 6000ks for $300 a set that included 5 full days playing zig zag across the snowies. They feel pretty second hand but still better then anything less then an Bridgie 012SS.
Cheers Brett
I have fallen into some Half lived Metzler Racetech's 001's & been told I'll be lining up to pay $550 a pair after i've used a set. They better be good.
