Dont give up, dont let a piece of alloy and plastic get you down. You can fix the little bugger, streetfighter it if you have to, and get back on it.
We all have challenges, I wish you all the best getting over this one
Whats streetfighter it mean. it looks like it needs bout 2k worth of repairs, so not really worth it on a bike that old.
Streetfighter is scrap the fairing for good put new forks and tank on it with renthal bars and it becomes a streetfighter eg
this was a zx 12 before it crashed

Unfortunate mate, that gravel sure bites. I know from writing off two bikes against cars, it makes you take a close look at your mortality. As for the VN, I wouldn't say don't pay (you'd be pissed if someone hit you and refused to pay) but at least try sourcing parts from wreckers. No point making his car 'better' than it was prior to accident.

Its not good news about the off mate, but think if the tables were turned and he hit you

After all its a VN...you can just about find parts sitting on the side of the road, note its general condition and repair it ya self to that standard. Insurance companies insist repairers use second hand parts where ossible. Why should it be any different for you.
As for the bike mate you have plenty of options, but for my 2c stay with it. The rewards of riding far out weigh the risks.

"Bugger" glad your OK champ. It's easy done to toss it on gravel.
As for the hypothecial of jerking the car driver around.
I got another hypothetical that goes like .....
"Car river is a tool & didnt slow down before you centerpunched him
"
I'd be paying for his stuff asap & buying him a carton of beer as well for being alert enough to keep you out of hospital.
Anyone without insurance, here's where you stand. (Hyperthetically).
Looks like a bit of work to fix mate, but dont make any "fast decisions" you or the scoot arent going anywhere. Heal up mate.
Cheers Brett

yeah thanks guys, but i know my old girl cant handle it. And i dont want to put her through this again. Might wait till i move outta home, that way she wont know if i buy one or when im riding. Last year when i told her i was getting my L's i could see tears, so i'd hate to think what she was like yesterday when she found out.

Sorry to hear of the off CW but glad you're ok at least. As everyone else has said, take your time re fixing/selling the bike. Mothers always worry about anything, is why we love them.
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"
See how ya feel in a month or so when the bruises heal mate. I owned my first bike for a month before I slammed it into the side of car, writing it off and busting a collar bone. Next one faired a little better, though I dropped it twice. From then on I slowed down and haven't stepped off again in 20 years and 3 bikes. Everyone smashes up a bike or two in the early days, it's just life.
As for your mum, well she has to live her own life and let you live yours. Mine used to worry like hell but when I told her about getting this latest bike she didn't bat an eye. I think she has come to realize that bikes aren't a dangerous as she though. It's just the lunatics on them

Mate thats shit news, but at least you got out of it physically OK. It's stating the bleeding obvious but smacking a car coming the other way can end up very nasty.
Chin up eh!!
