green machine at the moto gp in 2006

Post by kermitzx9r »

Ok People what does Kawasaki have to do to start winning at the moto gp, short of kidnap Rossie or try and get him on the big K, O- Jacque showed some real promise and could of won the first gp for Kawasaki last year and how did they reward him... they made him a test rider...
please let me know your thoughts and feelings on this matter...
kindest regards john

Jacques did so well in that race last year because he had nothing to loose. He knew he wasn't getting a permanent ride. If he binned it he binned it.

I don't think he has the talent and consistency to be permanent fixture for the green team.

Nakano is a champion and a very underated rider. I think we'll see him on the podium a couple of times this year.

Jacque may have got Kwak's top result last year, but it was in a wet race and in the half-dozen other race starts he had, he didn't do anything special.

Kawasaki could've given him a full-time ride this year, but then they would've had a team of two riders who were both on the downhill side of their careers; Nakano is 31, Jacque is 33. By the time Kawasaki gives them a bike that could possibly win, they'll both be too old to take advantage of it.

For my money, they're doing the right thing in not repeating Yamaha's mistake and snapping up young talent when it becomes available.

O-J looked a bit ordinary at pi and seemed to be having dificulty keeping the bike on the track, he also seemed to have a problem with fitness at Qatar and went back home pretty quick he just didnt like the heat.

I reckon you will see him back onthe bike and racing pretty quick if something happens to one of the riders through the season though but if you look at his times in testing he is a long way off the pace.

Be good to see a green bike up the pointy end of the field it makes for a totaly diferent race.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Kawasaki lost the plot late last year. Cant blame the tyres as Capirossi won using the same rubber & even the Spewie outqualified & raced us in the wet till Junior blew the sukka up or Hoppie needed to play in the various sand pits. .
OJ rode an excellent race in china to finish second, Mind you Nakano's bike expired while he was in front of OJ. As for OJ in general he qualified badly & rode like a busted ar$sehole in the other 3 races he contested.

I think they are back on course now with the bike & Randy will WIN the big K's first gp in the wet this year.

Nakkers didnt have to PUSH to beat his team mates last year & if you watch his lines he was usually leaving half a mater safety margin on most exits. This year he will continue to show his worth as a development rider & have to work to keep the big K's number one rider tag.

I wonder if biaggi is still walking around with the $6 million cheque in his pocket. We could give him "Pitties" old scoot & sink the coin into developing next years 800cc donk

not a bad idea there brett.

but let's face it, we're talkin about a bloke who highsided at 60kph at a demo ride and busted hios scafoid (it's the tiniest bone in ur wrist. and unfortunately the most painful). his days are numbered.
we also have eckl on record saying to the channel 10 crew he wanted jamie stauffer on the second bike at PI not OJ.
woulda been good to nab casey, but randy will do us proud in the coming years.

on a side note, i read that as far as the GP riders themselves are concerned, Nakano's skills are right up there with Rossi
imagine we had a good bike!
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Money would change things for a start, who is Kawasaki's major sponsor in the GP? ie. 'Camel' Yamaha, 'Fortuna' Honda, 'Repsol' Honda, hell even Suzuki is now packing Rizla.
The main problems with last years bike were the on/off power delivery, traction control and engine braking systems.
They likened Kwakas GP bike to the 2005 ZX10, great fun to ride, but far from smooth and smoothness and refinement is what you need to get around a racetrack the quickest.
They could have stuck God himself on the Kawasaki and it probably couldn't have done any better.

If you want to see the green team win this year, I'd be turning my back on the GP and watching Superbikes instead.

I see your point but even De Puniet is 27. Though De Puniet does show some decent promise, and has always been the type of rider to go flat out no matter what the situation.

I didn't necessarily say they would win, I just believe they've got a better chance in Superbikes but anywho...

Kawasaki could win a MotoGP race, if all the Hondas, Yamahas and maybe a Suzuki or two crashed out or had mechanical failures
