Not to go on about this again but I was talking the guy that runs the accessories at the local dealer, who I bought my Nitro from. He said he has sold hundreds of em and only a couple came back, 1 with a vent problem and the other with something else, both were the cheaper models. He said he he can't recall a 1000v coming back and they are one of the biggest sellers of Nitros in NSW..
He also told me why he believes they are not importing them anymore.... nothing to do with problems but more an issue with supply and now naming rights... It would appear Cassons are going to start having there own helmets manufatured...
just what I heard so don't shoot the messenger...
Maybe Cassons have had the M2R helmets made? (Made 2 Race) They are Australian owned - going to buy 5 of these and see how they go. I have 5 RXT Orbit helmets bought less than 12 months ago and 3 of them have frayed in the strap- with not much use- I was hoping for at least two years out of these helmets and I'm sure this won't happen. The Australian importer, Moto National won't warrant them, so I'm stuck with the heaps of crap. I've gone to Consumer Affairs- next step is Crashlab in NSW, who gives these helmets Australian Standards Compliance. My Shoei does more work than all the helmets combined (I go to to every motorcycle lesson- each helmet goes to the lesson suited to the student's headsize, and my Shoei gets worn when I ride privately) and it hasn't frayed in the strap. Moto National reckons it's the velcro in the jackets that cause the fraying- they supplied my Moto-Dry jackets so it's their responsibility IMHO. I wear the same jacket once again, and it doesn't affect my helmet. Utter crap-been at them for 6 weeks to fix this and they have just blown me off.
Did you have problems with your Nitro helmet, Dan? I've looked into buying them too. Surely you can expect a few years out of a helmet....
