Ahhh I have a soft spot for the black/red GPX750R. The guy who first got me interested in bikes many years ago rode one of these, so it was my first "I wish I had a..." bike.

Dude, you made me do a double-take, aside from the fact that its clean it looks near identical to my bike. The only differences i can see are the fully polished rims and the fact i have a "formula 1" sticker on my can.

That was so frickin disturbing.
How many km's on the clock?

Well done though, they aren't as high powered as a 12, but for a clunky old bike, they go well. The only time i hate mine is when it isnt working.

Do you know if the front has been revalved and the ECBS (elecetronic controlled braking system) disabled? if not, it'd be a worthwhile thing to consider doing. It's one of the things i want to get done to my bike at some point. (ECBS is a dodgy way of hardening up the suspension, basically electronic valves kick in when the front brakes applied, stiffening up the front suspension a LOT. I first realised what it was when i cane into my driveway and only sometimes heard an almighty THUMP as i went over the gutter, and other times it worked nice and smoothly. I should really get mine disabled one of these days....

Oh and let us know how many km you get out of a tank, and if your low fuel light works, mine only works if and when it cbf.

Nice acquisition mate and a great way to keep the kays down on the twelve. One of the instructors I used to work with has an identical GPZ in his garage that he has owned from new. Has about 12000 klms on it and is absolutely original.

I'd love to get my hands on one of the original GPZ900's just for the heck of it.

ok low fuel light does work as it was on and had to go with the guy to put fuel in it.. Now as for how much it uses i will have to keep you posted. and thanks for the heads up on the front suspension..

I just sold mine (it was white and red)

38000ks is good...nothing much goes wrong
'cept the rears suspension may lose air (you will need a new shock)
and the front?..as Mike sez the ECBS is shit
I cut the cable on mine and went to thicker fluid at a higher level
with some 20c pieces on top of the spring spacers...front end
worked a treat!

you will LUV the fuel consumption (or lack of )
tyre life is around the 15-20,000kms (if you don't flog it)
and a full service...??? oil and filters etc ..$100 tops

the ZX750 is a great bike and no slouch (240+)
easy to ride no real vices

Sounds like the 750s have a lot more power than my 600, it feels like a real slug. But then I guess the track bike might be the spoiler....

Anyway if the rest of it is anything like my 600 then it will be a great commuter. They are sprung way to soft for real fast stuff, but still fine for getting around with the odd blast thrown in for good measure. A good, relaxed and comfy ride position with good vision and a low seat really help too.

Do you get 16" or 18" wheels on the 750? The 600s have 16s, and I wish they were 18s.

Anyway I am sure you will love it, congrats!
