Scooter riders and licencing

Post by wazza1234 »

After seeing a scooter rider today riding in a singlet, nylon running shorts and whatever shoes she was wearing it struck me as weird that in QLD (and whatever other states have the rule) you do not need even a bike learners to ride a scooter under 50cc. I must admit that I got a taste for 2 wheels on a scooter but is it responsible of the department of transport to allow people to jump on these things without any training at all? Opinions?

Ah yes, but everyone knows that when you ride a scooter you have immunity from getting hit by anything.

Coming home from the beach yesterday I saw two scooter riders (although I would prefer to call them drivers) both with stupid little open face helmets on their stupid little pin heads and both of the stupid little dickheads had the straps from the helmets gracefully flowing in the breeze. Must be soo inconvenient to have to go to the bother of fastening the strap.

It would appear that when you fall off your stupid little scooter your helmet stays on your stupid little head without the need to be fastened by a stupid little strap.

Look up the Macquarie dictionary under "Stupid" I'm sure it must say "scooter riders"

Hopefully Darwin was right.

Did I mention that I think scooters and the knobs that ride them are stupid.

Hey, Scooters can be fun. I know the times i've been to the gold coast fo a race meeting, the best racing was had during the week before, Turning up to the scooter hire place in full race gear (What were they think actually hiring them to us LOL) to hire a scoot for half a day. Scooter supercross on the dunes round the spit is awesome.

But yes. most normal scooter rides do appear to be lacking on some/most areas.

I voted OTHER. They should have proper training and tests etc but ONLY have a license for scooter, not motorbikes.
Its the same as saying "I've got a bus license so I can drive a truck."

I voted yes they should have a licence.

But come to think about it, Push Bikes don't need licences and can use the road like any other car / bike.

Hmmm catch 22.

I voted "other". Being able to ride a scooter does not a motorcyclist make. It should be a scooter specific licence and also specify automatic or not.

Hey I've got a great idea..

Why don't we make so many rules to protect other idiots from hurting themselves that we hafta ask the government's permission before we do ANYTHING.

I rode one arouund bali for a week and it came with a helmet just the liner was missing out of it.

There quite okay so long as everybody else is riding the same thing and you follow the special rules that go with riding a scooter in bali. :D

Just have to watch out over there when you park your black honda with all the other black hondas and go back to get it a hour later after shopping.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?
