broadband supplier....

Post by Neka79 »

posted in the TPG thread but got no response....so here goes..
thinking abt setting up broadband wen we get the new place, and cos $$ will be tight until the mrs gets a job, i dont wanna spend too much on it...
now i currently use abt 100 hrs on dial up & 300mb..this would increase if it wasnt so bloody slow...plus there will be 2 of us using it all day....
i can get unlimited hrs/ download on dial up for $16 if i go with optus for my phone & keep them for my dial up....
so do i pay $16 extra for unlim dial up...or..
$40 for 7gb peak (+14gb off peak) broadband at 1500??

or does ne1 else have a good suggestion for BB for less than that??

i want at least 5gb ...speed has to be worth going too (is it worth 256??)

input from u nerdy types please...

ive only ever had dial up so i guess i'd not really miss BB if i didnt get it...

I am with westnet paying $59.95 a month for 1500 with 5 gig peak 5 gig off peak downloads. It suits me fine and the connection is reliable. If I ever needed more downlads I could up it for a month and for $10 extra get 14gig peak 14gig off peak downloads.

I'm on the TPG plan that is being phased out evidently 1500/256 20Gb unshaped for $49.95, those that have jumped the TPG ship have gone to Exetel, no idea what they're like.

Neka, head to http://www.broadbandchoice.com.au and you can do some research yourself :) You best know what you want to spend after all.

That is a fairly average price, most of the plans are within a couple of bucks of that... at all the ISPs...

Internode

I am with Internode and have been for the last 3 years. First ever provider and would not move as they have great prices, excellent service and do there own development for better broadband.

Also factor into the equasion your dialup bills.

like 40x 25cents calls = $10
