Not to sound cynical, but are you serious??? I mean so if I went and bought an MV Augusta F4 1000 and traded it in in twelve months time on a new Z750 for $10k, you don't reckon I would get money back.?????

Just think about how much a new one is of what I traded, and then ask yourself how much a new CB900 is and then do the math. It quite frankly aint that unbelievable!

mate dont care about your financial dealingsStrika wrote: Lucas thanks for asking but my financial dealings are now kept private. Apart from know facts like they were running out the CB9's for 11K. And I got money back!
Just wanted to know the going rate for your model ZX6 as looking at the 6's for a project
but being a 636cc it seems to take me out of the class i was looking at

TRUST ME! I'VE SEEN THIS DONE ON T.V.......

Well lets put it this way, here in qld a new CB900 is 11990 ride away. I have seen people trying to sell their 05 ZX6 for 12500, 12000 and even on here a poor fellow had to get rid of his for 10k.Strika wrote:nobikeatall wrote:not to sound disbeleiving, but the day I see a dealer give you more for your used trade than a brand new ride away bike is the day......geez well I can't even think about it.

I watch those prices decline in the adverts as people try to get rid of them, for the simple fact if not most people like yourself and I dont mean to offend the hardcore sports riders amongst us but the 50-60% get sick or made the mistake and find it is completely impracticle to use a modern sportsbike as a commuter.
I still have sore balls and back( not that you all want to know that ) from riding my 04 zx6 and although I loved it not the best choice I made in my life.
The reason I am doubting your version of events is because I am constantly tyre kicking and read bikepoint, bikesales and autotrader religiously in the vane hope I may go back to riding and like to depress myself and yes it is a sick hobby.
Given the k's your bike had on it and being a used model I find it hard to beleive in fact dont beleive and although may be in excellent condition it does not add up.
Here is an extract from redbook.com.au for the national trade in price
Trade in price guide* $7,900 - $9,400
if dealers paid you more for your zx6 than the cb900 I think they were smoking crack in the back before they did the deal or you are extremely lucky.
As for trading an MV Augusta F4 for a z750 that is an extreme example, but not a 05 zx6 for a CB900.
But after that I do hope you enjoy your new ride, they are a nice bike and based on the rep of the 919 motor should last you a good while.

let me get this right.......you walked into a dealer, and got a *brand-new* Hornet, plus a refund of $$$, and all you had to do was hand over a used ZX6R ??? With 20,000km on board ?? (or thereabouts ?)
is this basically a correct scenario ??

Nothing fishy about it! You guys are just missing some of the information is all.
But seriously guys. I have stated previously that the dollars and cents are nobody's business but mine. SO I would respectfully request that the subject be left alone. Next you will be wanting to know what my companies bottom line was last year
I am more than happy to discuss what is public knowledge, such as advertised prices, but once again, as with the purchase of the 636, the semantics of the deal is not for public discussion.

well, with all due respect, you put the seed into everyone's mind.......Strika wrote:...Apart from know facts like they were running out the CB9's for 11K. And I got money back!

personally, if you did walk away with money back from trading in a used 600 for a new 900 Honda, well done, but that simply reinforces to me the true value of a Kawasaki in the first place

Thankfully I still own two ZX6's Gos, so I don't have to hang my head in shame every time I jump on here

I agree, if you want to clear your name simply scan a copy of the dealer contract, that would really put it up us none beleivers!!Gosling1 wrote:well, with all due respect, you put the seed into everyone's mind.......Strika wrote:...Apart from know facts like they were running out the CB9's for 11K.
