Come sit down grasshopper, let me share some wisdom of the Mojo...

Mojo's criteria for buying a motorcycle.

1. It must physically fit you. Both feet on the ground, knees not up around your ears...
2. Its mechanically sound.
3. Its suitable for the work you want it to do.
4. You can afford to buy, service and insure it.
5. It looks sexy to you.
6. It looks sexy enough to others, or at least enough that they can withhold their giggling till after you've gone.

If you buy a Gixxer I can't guarantee the last one. Just ask MickeyD.

I need to have those criteria set before I test ride a bike, otherwise the lust takes over and I'm scrambling for the chequebook. Now tell the truth, you've test ridden this thing first haven't you???

Have another think about it. If the deal is REALLY good, then there is probably a reason for it, and you won't like when you learn the reason. If its an average deal, be patient and the right green ZX6R for you will come along. 8)
Cheers

Nice bike mike :D You outa get rid of that cist on the back of it though
Where else would I put the digital SLR? Seriously, the box is for commuting, I remove the box for rideouts (most of the time). As Billy says, "it's not funny when you're hooning along and get overtaken by a topbox"

Either that, or he needs to put a "Real Aussies Drive Utes" sticker on the back of it.

In which case, in asking about bigger bikes at this point in your development as a rider, you're pretty much wasting everyone's time... including yours.

Concentrate on that ZXR250 and what it can teach you for now.

In my experience it is always better to look in the top end of the market...ie never buy the cheapest bike (for its age) that you can find. Be prepared to hand over a bit more money for something newer/better/less k's. Occassionally you'll find a stressed seller that will take a lower offer anyhow...

Don't be in a panic to do anything - plenty of good bikes have turned up even on this site - unfortunately never at a time that I've been cashed up :(

i think the worst thing (aestheticly) about 99 GSXR600's is the tail end!!! cant stand that SRAD bumble bee bum... its horrid...

98-2002 ZX6R's & 9R's look far sexier from the rear IMO

and are a hell of a lot comfier too

Nodz. I sold my GSX-R600 for that much in November, 2004. Fair enough, it had no rego, but it had Ohlins and Akrapovic in all the appropriate places and made my ZX6 feel like it had been shot in the arse with a tranquiliser dart.

I like them..... They look great.... there is nothing wrong with them.... on a kawasaki forum a few people might be a bit biased.......

My wife rides one.... although a newer model without the bumblebee butt on it...
