Which is all well and good for sweepers, but a balanced rider's diet needs sustained 25, 35 and 45kph advisories, and I really can't recall a proper tightly-wound stretch of road in WA ever being mentioned.

The Black Spur, in its current state, no. You could probably do a world tour of racetracks and still not come across tarmac of comparable quality.

There are any number of roads I can think of, though, which, if paved with the same formulation of asphalt, would kick seven shades of shit out of the Black Spur. In terms of the corners on offer, I would rate Clyde Mountain, Mt Darragh, the Old Pacific Highway and Kangaroo Valley, among others, ahead of it.

Central country vic is good place to live too, only an hour or so from melb, plenty of good country roads to ride on and of course the fresh air too.
You can also see the stars at night  :D

Due to budget cuts, light at end of tunnel will be out.

For all the above reasons, you've gotta go Melb or at least Victoria. I'm an hour out of the City and whilst the wearing out of the centre of my rear Tyre annoys me, I'm also an hour from Great Ocean Road and Bendigo. The Spur Rides take about 2 hrs to get to, but are well worth the planning to get to them. Philip Island GP is 2.5 - 3 hrs away, if my arse doesn't break first.
Vic - Roads, Events, Weather, Parking, Compact Size, and Poms are made to feel welcome. I should know. I am one!!

Good roads are everywhere on the East coast...cant choose a city on that.

Cameras aren't the real issue for bikes it's the far more dreaded *mobile* radar that'll get you doing something totally unasseptabull. I think this is used all over ain't it??

Read that Melbourne population is fastest growing in the country (by number) and Brisbane (by percentage) in the paper on the weekend.
Just one more law and everyone will be safe.

Looks like you are in a married quarter from the picture. I am ex-UK Forces (15yrs in the RAF). Good luck with the move mate.

PS Apart from the speed cameras the road around Putty and the Central COast, NSW are fantastic.

[quote="Smitty
ooops
me think the New South wales members might disagree....
they would reckon ..and I would agree
Bathurst has to be the best....[/quote]

I said racing EVENT.

Not just the race. Bathurst wins by far when your talking about the actual race, but there's a bigger party in adelaide. Plus the women are better looking here

im gonna buy houses in melbourne and brisbane,

get a 2005 zx10r at each house, buy my own private jet,

live in brissy until it gets too hot then fly to melbourne until it gets too cold then go back to brissy :D

before i make my mind up, i need to sample the delights of both places  , so will be relying on you lot to take me out on the roads and to the pubs, then i will choose :D
