Gear Indicator

Post by hidepenny »

hi guys, just read the post about the guy doing 300kph, and saw some posts about some gear indicator, and i saw on the web site that in order to have the gear indicator installed the bike must have a electric speedo...is that true?? what about for older model bikes like the zx2r?? anyway to have it install without big bang for the money?

as it'd come in so handy to motorcycle riders i think

or does anyone know in melboure who can install it?

thx in advance

oh also , it doesn't have to be digital, may be just a set of lights indicating the gear position? may be?

HP, get in touch with Perry at http://www.bike-gizmos.com and he can install it as well as supply it, not difficult i'm led to believe.

I just count them as I go up and then remember where I am. The less gagets, the less to distract me I recon.

I don't usually worry what gear the bike is in. If it feels revvy or stressed I change up, if it seems laboured, I change down. When it won't change up anymore I'm in 6th, if it won't go down it's in 1st - when the green light is on it's in neutral. To be truthful I probably ride in too high a gear a lot of the time, doesn't bother me too much.
