My Ultimate Dream Bike !!

Post by Gosling1 »

This is the 'naked' version of Mick Grant's KR750, which won the British Superbike Title in its debut year, defeating Barry Sheene on the works suzuki TR750 'Flexi-flyer'.

Basic stats:

Weight - 130kg
HP - approx. 130
Top-speed - 191mph ( Isle of Man, 1977 TT)

and we all thought that 200mph superbikes were something that were only built in the last 10 years

:D

edit: - added a shot of the 'dressed version', and another shot of RH side.

BTW I saw two motorcycle museums on the road last weekend. (if I had more time I would have gone inside.... :( ) One was at Tamworth, and one was at Nabiac, which is north of Newcastle- anyone visited these? What were they like? :)

Went to the Nabiac one a few years ago, its pretty big with heaps of bikes.
A few collectables but mostly one of anything...
Its a great place for weekend ride. We left on the Saturday and got there about 2ish, stayed in the Caravan park across the road. The museum put on a BBQ for us and played all the old racing movies until the wee hours...
Got up in the morning with a stinking hangover and road home....
A great weekend..!!

If you do consider a trip out to Bathurst ( even better if an overnighter), I will certainly rip up for a trip - been looking for a good excuse to go to that museum for *ages*

I will dig out my old 'Team Kawasaki Australia' postcards, and post them up as well :P

The National Motorcycle Museum at Nabiac is run by a very old mate of mine, Brian Kelleher. Brian ( or 'Chrome' as we used to call him, because of his bald head), used to run the Yamaha dealership in Canberra - The Stable. He is a top bloke, I have visited the museum a couple of times now, he loves having groups of bikers visit, does the BBQ thing, etc.

Next time you visit, tell him 'G'day from Team Donut' - - the photos from that other thread with the Odyssey doing wheelies was taken on his old property just outside Canberra......

2 stroke, triple cylinder goodness, nice big expansion chambers. I'd love to see and hear one in the flesh, but in the mean time I have to settle for my mates Suzuki GT750 "waterbottle". I'd love to see a modern big bore smoker developed.
