Stoner confirmed starter in MotoGP
Australian Casey Stoner has been confirmed as riding for the LCR team in 2006 as the squad makes the move up to the MotoGP class.
Stoner, who had been linked to a seat with Honda in MotoGP for some time, will race with the squad with which he almost took the 250 class title this season, and the team will receive backing from HRC.

My name is rossi and was way before monkey boy was born !!
Now if the talented italian REALLY wanted a challenge he'd have jumped on and deveoped the ZX10RR and not the M1

sorry Rossi, back on topic
I see that Casey has done a 2:03:56 at Sepang in *recent* testing, which is less than 1 sec. off Vale's times
not so bad.....he is listed on Honda.......isn't he now riding for the satellite Sito Pons team, not LCR ??

".....shut the gate on this one Maxie......it's the ducks guts !!............."
negative he is with LCR, however not good being a single bike team!! limits the data collection etc etc.
Good luck to him I say, especially if the receive the same support the other HRC teams do.
I would say he didnt get the Pons gig because of the Biaggi debacle and he could not pay for his ride through sponsorship.
far out its 2:23am on new years day, gotta luv shift(shit) work.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

he has been consistant thru the whole season on a 250 and is young enough taht a couple of seasons will see him at the pointy end of the pack and i would say regardless of what team he is employed at.
honda will send him the parts he needs if he shows promise and he certainly looked the goods on a 250 so i dont see a problem in moto gp.
even beter we got to watch him at a good old fashioned track day in the bush
must be omen lol.
No wondr gnome was looking slow.
