gpx250 strugling to get through the rev range

Hi all. I am finding that my bike is struggling to get through the rev range. It also feels that it hits a flat spot, the bike seems to loose power for a second then regain power, but this has only happen a few times.
The bike is fine till it gets around 8-9k rpm and then it feels very slugish, almost like if the clutch is slipping but revs dont seem to go up fast like a slipping clutch?
any ideas??

Or maybe some idiot (me)put his waterproof pants under the seat which was blocking the air intake

I thought I packed it away from the air box.

GlennB, before u start ripping the engine/gearbox apart, try changing oil and cleaning/changing air filter first.

I'm not sure if it's happening on my ZZR250 but it's certainly not bothering me.

Forsale one set of mesh wet weather gear. guaranteed to help airflow but absolutely useless in the rain.
